  1. I tend to agree with that as well, but the club compromised its values and went back on its word in signing Kewell.. From being a "gimmick" and a "circus" to now being suddenly good for the club. This points to a departing of the clubs culture and direction and I am not sure it is a positive one. And signing a player who openly mocked teh club in a press conference while he was at MV is going to piss people off and rightfully so. Those people shouldn't be dismissed as they care more for the club than a bandwagoner who is coming just for one player..
  2. Clearly you`ve not gone just yet. For everyone like yelawolf that decide`s to leave. There`s 10 ready to take there place. Nice to see we value our fellow fans.. It's a messed up mentality to suggest that it doesn't matter that some fans will leave because we will probably get some bandwagoners as a result of Kewell. Numbers of fans don't make a football club, it is the type of fans..
  3. He would be fine playing as a lone striker if the ball was being played to feet and there were players around him to combine with. Not thumping long balls in the air for him to beat two centre backs.
  4. Great post. Bravo. He needs to fit in with the club, not the club fit in with him. I have my doubts whether he is capable of it.
  5. Tadic was the perfect example of how a good player is useless to have unless the team functions.. Totally wasted last season..
  6. The only players we should pay transfer fees for are players that are younger and can either play for many years or the club can sell down the track.
  7. Have been playing 4-2-3-1 ever since JA has been in charge.. What he needs to prove next season is an ability to make changes when things aren't going well..
  8. The club needs to stop giving time frames and just do their business.. We fans need to just let them do it. Signing players is always unpredictable..
  9. People that are surprised by this obviously haven't followed Kewell's career. He is a rubbish person like his mate Lucas Neill.. The only thing the club has done wrong is to go after him in the first place.. They should now tell him to fark off.. Exposure for the club this week is one thing, but I am not sure that exposure for the sake of exposure is a good thing.. The club has come accross as having double standards in wanting to sign him in the first place and him not turning up to his signing makes us now look irrelevant. The club has always said that they would not sign a player who thinks they are bigger than the club. What Kewell did at Victory suggests exactly that. It is pure desperation to then go back on that kind of value. And in the end, even if he signs, the club is still gojng to end up looking stupid.
  10. Yeah would be good to get confirmation of this fantastic news. Entirely predictable if true.. Even if he has signed, he has already shown the club disrespect by not turning up to his presentation. Disgrace.
  11. The club is losing me. What the fark?? He will cause all kinds of drama around the squad just like he did at Victory and other clubs. Thinks of himself as more important than the club. He is a keep clear zone..
  12. We need to have a little more faith in the club. Am confident that they will put a good squad together. Murdocca and Ramsey are a good start.
  13. So we should tolerate thuggery and make excuses for him because he will probably play well?? The same argument Victory fans used with Muscat.. Barton may well be a changed man, but his RECENT performance against Man City and subsequent ban suggests otherwise.. To say that Barton somehow doesn't mean to hurt people is way off the mark.. And a leader who is violent towards his own teammates and bags the club, players and coaches when he doesn't get his way doesn't sound like my view of what a leader should be.
  14. "boat people" should not be asscociated with the negative.. Unfortunately in this country it is.
  15. A huge and neglected football community in the south east..
  16. So I am 'retarded' for not liking a player who goes out to injure people, including his own teammates.. Melburnian, you described him as "Outspoken, mongrel, hard nosed player who would not take any shit from anyone not giving their all." Muscat had the same characters as a footballer.. So I ask, what is the difference between Barton and someone like Muscat? http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/bad-boy-joey-bartons-bust-ups-862234
  17. There is no difference between this thug and someone like Kevin Muscat..
  18. I agree he can be like that, but Sheedy's repeated ignorance needed to be challenged.. Especially, since most of the self serving AFL and mainstream media are unwilling to criticise anything to do with 'our game'.
  19. The bullshit I have heard over the last few days about Sheedy being a champion of diversity is laughable. The guy is an idiot who thinks that if you are going to live in Australia then you need to embrace Australian things like AFL and so on.. He does not aim for a respect of diversity at all, rather wants assimilation.. Football to him is just hanging on to your "old country" and not embracing Australia. Am very surprised to read on this forum that people would be against Craig Foster. The article is spot on.. The AFL with their rubbish programs that promote "diversity" are just PR opportunities and I know for a fact that a lot of the kids that were used for photo opportunities were then abandoned and left with nothing that was promised to them such as help with pathways into the game.
  20. Where are you getting Ognenovski from?
  21. Stuff the football, I want the season to start again just so I don't have to read these outrageous topics and posts.. Not even on a computer game would Totti sign for us.. Would probably tell us to stop taking the piss in response..
  22. How is it a realistic possibility when the club rejected it straight away and Central Coast did the same..
  23. I was not worried about the club being taken over and re-branded, but I am worried about the attitudes and values of some of our own supporters.. Frightening stuff..
  24. To be fair to the club, it is hard to stop young players from leaving if they have interest abroad, particularly Europe. Nor do you want to stand in the way.. It's actually a credit to the club, but it is about how the money is the reinvested in the club..
  25. Unbelievable player.. A pleasure to watch.. It won't happen though..
