  1. Crucial we bank the 3 points here when you consider the derby next week and a tough run home that features Adelaide twice and Sydney and Brisbane. Doubt it would be wise to play Kisnorbo, let him rest a week which means it's (again) a far from perfect defensive lineup, but let's be honest goals will win it and if Mooy/Novillo/Fornaroli are in the mood we should be too good. 4-2 win, then bring on the tards!
  2. For 65-70 minutes that was hard to watch. Following Fornaroli's miss in the early stages I thought we were outplayed, clearly their physical attention on Harry and Mooy worked, though I thought Bridge should've seen red for that tackle on Melling. Showed our class in the later stages, Fornaroli's finish was world class and Mooy was dangerous later in the game but why we persist with this back 3 I'm not sure. With Hughes not playing JVS should've added more cover back and told the lads to slow things down. At least play Paartalu as a central defensive. Yep tough loss tonight, thought at one stage after Tuna's goal we we were on the way to a club defining win, but have faith. Meet them again in finals and we can beat them, no question.
  3. If Koren isn't named on the bench (and there's no reason to think he would be after Trifiro's solid performance against WSW) it would be safe to say he's goose is cooked. On the game itself, as long as we don't play a really high intensity style in the first half (it's 30+ degrees every day in Perth) and burnout in the 2nd half, we should be too good for them. Keep playing Novillo and Tuna centrally and they'll each score a brace. 4-0!
  4. First time poster here after a while being a lurker on this forum. Have to say after years of mediocrity, Saturday's win marked a real turning point. Was particularly impressed with the atmosphere in final 15 minutes, sitting in GA it was good to see the vast bulk of ppl on their feet at Mooy's free in the 80th and in stoppage time. Credit to the Melburnians for making it happen. Took an AFL mate for his first A-League game with me, he loved it, particularly our attacking style of play which he credited to Mooy and Novillo. Says he'll be back for the game against the Phoenix on the 25th, hopefully that's a sign of things to come, if we keep playing the way we are with an emphasis on goals and shore up defensively then that crowd average will be pushing well past 10k at the back end of the season. Keen for a top 2 finish as I (and no doubt the big wigs at the club) want to see us playing ACL in 2017. We've negotiated our toughest stretch of matches past 4 weeks reasonably well, we should be picking up close to maximum points next few weeks. Looking forward to it. We Gather Strength As We Go.
