Makes sense to have red on the shirts - part of our history and our emblem. One red and one white stripe on the sky blue and red white socks would look great. If they want improved supporter engagement, especially with the new melb club coming in.
-
Realise that. Make sense if we had some red on our shirt. NYC had a navy and orange stripe on their sky blue shirt.
-
Add a red and white stripe to the home shirt. Why have red in the emblem anyway?

What was the point of getting rid of Bruno. Amateurs.

City Football Group (CFG) [Owner of Melbourne City]
Rasputin replied to Torn Asunder's topic in Melbourne City
For some unexplained reason I grew to hate Victory when the A league started. Went to some games early as have always been a football fan but just couldn't connect. Then Heart came and it was like yep, this is it. The excitement and interest in those early years was amazing. Now it's been taken away and watch occasionally and check the scores now and then. Shame. -
Warren Joyce. As predicted by Serb Hair Dresser.. Goneski

GTFO Joyce GTFO CFG Turned our club into a dull plastic boring soul less steaming pile of sky blue horse shit. -
The club should pay some arab oil money to get Sydney's foreign scouts. Ninkovic, Adrian, Bobo, Reza, LeFondre to name a recent few.

Hopefully the club can be bought back to red and white Heart and CFG can fuck off. -
With West Melb entering the league and South East Melb soon to enter, City needs to look at its strategy for the future. If the 2 new melb clubs get their shit together and have some success in their boutique stadiums, then you can exclude these regions from providing future city fans. Victory unfortunately are a strong club which will get stronger and will always attract support. What point of difference does city have? If anything being a subsidiary and an academy of manchester city is a turn off to many. At least Heart felt like "our" club. The point of difference at the time was that Heart was the alternative to Victory. I know a few people who have turned away since city took over. They say it doesn't feel like the club they embraced as their own. Not only the changing of the name and colors but also the feeling that the club is being used as a means to an end. Man city trying to find the next talent they can on sell for a profit and CFG spreading their brand over the world. Football clubs should have a meaningful connection with it's fans where tribalism runs deep, not be a multinational entity looking for profits and global exposure.

Does Melbourne City have/need an 'identity'?
Rasputin replied to Forever City's topic in Melbourne City
Correct. Supporters don't know what colors they identify with. Red and white or sky blue? Why do so many wear the away red white tops to games. Which other club has so many of it's supportets wear away colors? Combinig red white and sky blue in its home shirt would go a long way to solving this. -
Melbourne City Victory has a nice ring to it.

Does Melbourne City have/need an 'identity'?
Rasputin replied to Forever City's topic in Melbourne City
Melbourne Heart had an identity and people chose to follow it. City came along and forcefully changed it's identity and alot of people felt obliged to continue to follow. You can see it in the stands - some people wear sky blue, some people red and white. Mixed up like the clubs identity. The only reason people put up with the take over and forced change of identity was the money which doesn't help build a strong identity.
