Season 23/24 - Round 17 -Melbourne vs Visitors 17th Feb - 7:30pm
neio replied to MHFC-FAN's topic in Melbourne City
Mass changes to the starting 11 for this week, I'd put Talbot (if fit), Souprayen, Fernandez, Tilio, Leckie, Antonis and Jakolis all in the 11 for Galloway, Hall, Politides, Ugarkovic, Lopane, Nabbout and Natel. Actually make a statement that last week wasn't good enough. Instead of the standard 1 or 2 changes and nothing fucking changes cause no one is worried about their spot in the 11. Very winnable game, so go and fucking win it -
For this season, Italiano is clearly number 1, Jackson and Sterjovski not far behind. I'd have Aloisi and Rado/Vidmar in the bottom 2. Everyone else is sort of in the middle, you can chop and change the order pretty much every week it's so even

On the Young recruitment, I can actually understand it. We thought we were still very much a contender and we needed a good keeper, preferably Australian. There wasn't too many options, the only keepers that moved teams in the offseason was Hewerd-Belle, Sail, Jack Duncan and Ryan Scott. None of them really excite me, so we would have had to go down the find a keeper to mutually terminate their contract, bring an Aussie home where I don't think there are that many at the age or level to come back or get a visa keeper. Jamie Young was sort of just the one that fitted for what we needed for 12 months. I would be concerned if he is still out keeper next year as there seem to be some better Aussie keepers available if we still don't judge that Beach is ready for number 1. -

Stopped watching at 5, how did Tilio, Leckie and Jakolis go? Good enough to start next week? -
He has been here long enough and there has been absolutely no change to playing style, if anything it's become worse and slower. I think it's honestly time to bring someone in for 8 weeks to take no bullshit and no prisoners, someone who deeply cares about the club and has had previous success here. If only there was someone like that available

Would seriously be looking at making all 5 subs at half time. Get Leckie, Tilio, Jakolis, Souprayen and Caputo on for Lopane, Natel, Maclaren, Hall and Ugarkovic -

What the fuck is Jordan Hall doing, just watches it. If Souprayen is good to go, get him on. Make a stand for shit non efforts like that -

I can nearly guarantee going off previous league examples that he is serving the 'red card obligatory 1 game suspension' this week and we will find out more next week. I saw earlier today that Aidan Simmons from WSW had his red card hearing for his red against WU 2 weeks ago this morning after they appealed, he didn't get off. But if he did I assume he missed last week for absolutely no reason. As I said before, just get it sorted as quick as possible. There is absolutely no reason to make things drag on for 2 weeks after the incident -

His hearing date was still to be determined, which is bloody stupid when they do this (they did the same for Storm Roux when he contested his red against us). It should be before the next game because if he is found not guilty he has missed a game he shouldn't have. I know he probably won't get found not guilty but it shouldn't matter, get the matter dealt with as quick as possible -
He is either going to be an absolute baller or he will be absolutely shit. No inbetween, 50-50 chance
-
Does anyone actually know what he said, it must be pretty bad to be getting over a month holiday

My guess is being a straight red we can't say a hell of alot until it goes through the discipline board. We probably just don't want to go off half cocked without all the info....like someone else in the league -

Well that was a disaster and then to top it off Arslan gets sent off for what seems like ill discipline I never thought I'd say this after the way he started the season, but when is Souprayen back. Him and Good were starting to form a solid partnership and since he has been injured it looks all over the shop at the back -

It's bloody soft, but it's bloody stupid. You could see a mile away that Kamau wanted to go down with any contact and Nuno obliged -

Guess we find out how desperately we need to sign a LB -
I think this could really transform our team and the way we look. How I see it now, if everyone is fit one of Leckie or Tilio will play in midfield with the other and one of Nabbout or Jakolis on the wing. If it clicks in attack, pretty scary stuff. Now hopefully Jeggo in midfield can help sure up the defence. For as bad as we have been I actually don't think there are that many good teams this season, we are still a chance to win something if we can click. On paper our best may still be comfortably the best in league
-
There better be a suitable LB coming our way from somewhere, otherwise this makes absolutely zero sense. I don't think Galloway is the long term LB option
-
I genuinely don't think anyone was that outstanding, and he did a pretty good job opposed to the 1 bloke who looked like they may take the game from us. Apart from the 1 on 1 which wasn't Talbot fault, he was having either pretty long or tight angled shots. But as I said, it probably wasn't your normal 3 vote game in quality for anyone
-
Vs Adelaide 3 Talbot 2 Antonis 1 Young
-
Were never going to get close to that rule, every week we have Talbot starting and at a minimum Mazzeo, Lopane, Caputo and Beach on the bench or in some case starting. Even when we reach what we would consider "full strength" I would say only Mazzeo would be in slight danger of not making squad. We would need them all to get injured and even then we don't have the over aged depth that they would get replaced with Nieuwenhausen, Politides and other young guys that we have seen on the subs bench in the past
-
Souprayen I thought had done enough in the previous 6 weeks to be ahead of both Hall and Nuno Reis
