  1. The interpretations of some of the keyboard warriors on here who don't understand the law, common decency and the reason why FFA have rules against insulting people is misguided. It doesn't matter what YOU or the person saying the comments are interpreted, it is the interpretation of and the offence from the comments made to the person receiving them. The controversial Section 18c of the Anti-Discrimination Act says it all. It is contentious, but this is the law currently in our democracy. Read it and you may find why it is such an issue. Having been on the end of racial slurs 50 years ago as a wog, dago and stinking New Australian, I thought we might have just come a little bit further, but perhaps we haven't. RACIAL DISCRIMINATION ACT 1975 - SECT 18C Offensive behaviour because of race, colour or national or ethnic origin (1) It is unlawful for a person to do an act, otherwise than in private, if: (a) the act is reasonably likely, in all the circumstances, to offend, insult, humiliate or intimidate another person or a group of people; and (b) the act is done because of the race, colour or national or ethnic origin of the other person or of some or all of the people in the group. Note: Subsection (1) makes certain acts unlawful. Section 46P of the Australian Human Rights Commission Act 1986 allows people to make complaints to the Australian Human Rights Commission about unlawful acts. However, an unlawful act is not necessarily a criminal offence. Section 26 says that this Act does not make it an offence to do an act that is unlawful because of this Part, unless Part IV expressly says that the act is an offence. (2) For the purposes of subsection (1), an act is taken not to be done in private if it: (a) causes words, sounds, images or writing to be communicated to the public; or (b) is done in a public place; or (c) is done in the sight or hearing of people who are in a public place. (3) In this section: "public place " includes any place to which the public have access as of right or by invitation, whether express or implied and whether or not a charge is made for admission to the place.

    Stefan Mauk

So based on an unsubstantiated report from a Greek construction worker he is now regarded as being unprofessional by many on here? I certainly can remember his absolute joy when he scored the header against the Tards. Haradly someone who was not a club man! It wasn't his fault that he left! JVS dumped him after the Perth Cup game and he was in the bad books after that because of an inept manager - nothing else. Same goes for Stefan. Whilst some of his antics back to the crowd after he was deliberately taken out by Sorensen may have been unnecessary, we lost a player which would have added NOT subtracted to our chances next year. Again inept management.

Where was this message to Adelaide? Source?
  4. Take outs from this game: 1. We got beaten by a team who can play football 2. Our two stars are just average when they have a team who actually follows a game plan and shuts them out of the game . Mooy has been shit and will struggle in Europe if he can't even overcome A League standard defenders despite his impressive statistics. 3. JVS is even dumber than any of us can imagine. Don't let the door hit you in the back of the head as you leave 4. I'm relieved it's over. We didn't deserve any more with the coach we have. The quicker he pisses off the quicker we can rebuild. 5. How can we let players go like Mauk and Partalu leave. Mauk tore us up because he always had the talent but had a numb nuts coach. I just realised all of my takeouts had the one common denominator. CYA John. Thanks for SFA!!
  5. Well I don't think they have too much to crow about!
  6. I heard from a Greek Construction worker friend of the inner sanctum of players that early in the season when we had been in a slump that JVS' pregame speech when asked what the tactics were for the game because no-one had been told, he answered "Do whatever you like"!!!!! This is a coach??? If you think that is a rumour, you'd be wrong. If you think that is a fact, you'd be right.Players walked mid-season because he couldn't get the best out of them, Mauk included and despite people's sudden dislike of him after last night, would have been a great City player except for or in spite of JVS. The construction worker also advises that Fornarolli has already announced to the inner sanctum that he will not be at City next year if JVS is still there, such is the distaste the team has for his lack of ability. We all forgot after a heady few games where we were playing like Barcelona (ha) that we were really a second rate team with some first rate individuals. Another disappointing team. Another will follow if JVS is there.
  7. Sorensen's ball handling and distribution is poor regardless of the result last night. How many times have you seen him fumble the easy balls. Did it again last night. A world class keeper would not do this. Sure he makes some unbelievable saves, but yet, I'd prefer a young aussie in goals even if they don't have the experience.
  8. Mooy keeps basking in his own glory and couldn't give two shits about the team he plays for. For all his talent he never plays for any other team than Mooy FC. We were totally out coached and our triumvirate of super duper stars were total duds! The quicker we lose in the Finals and that sun tanned pretender gets his next coaching role at Lichtenstein second division the better.
  9. hahahahahahaha Pretenders we are coached by a moron!!!!
  10. So that the other codes or sports can gain leverage on those weekends that there is no football?
  11. You're dreaming. We just beat a tired half a team and you think we are going to have a chance in the top two? You forget we have one millstone around our neck. JVS. He's the only coach I know that can take a diamond, subject it to tremendous heat and pressure and turn it into carbon dust!
  12. Elite players regularly sleep in the afternoons on training days and possibly on the day of a game. After a game it would not be unusual for them to be up into the early hours, especially if they are still very high on adrenalin following a game. I challenge anyone to go out and play a game at 7:30, go to a post-match dinner or perhaps a post match fan function and then try to sleep. I would suggest that his Tweets in the early hours would be pretty normal especially if he has family friends back home 8-10 hours behind on the clock.
  13. Some of our supporters are a bit two faced about these flares. I can remember not long ago having discussions about the virtues of having or not having flares at City games. So why are our flare throwing supporters any better than those of the tards? It's only a matter of time before one of our own do the same thing. Will we all be calling for suspensions and fines and loss of points then? It's a sickness that WE the supporters need to stamp out and not turn a blind eye to. I guarantee that there are those amongst us who know damn well who in our midst are also likely to, or have already ripped a flare. Its only a matter of time before a City supported lights one and give the news outlets even more fodder to denigrate our great game. I for one will be cheering when they start taking points off teams until it stops.
  14. I think this whole argument is why we got rid of the nationalistic bullshit NSL. Someone is just trying to play the "I'm a persecuted minority- that's why you don't take my mate" card. Given the distribution of nationalities and ethnic backgrounds we have had playing for us I think we can never be argued as being racist nor can we argue against Didiluca who like me is an ethnic! Short answer may be that the player is not what we want. - end of!
