No they are completely different players
-
where did you see that?
-
Antonis was out the whole of last season with an injury
-
It is a long off-season signings will come, a lot of the fanbase are being reactionary imo, Antonis is a depth signing, the club would no way bring him in as a Berisha or VDV replacement
-
But then he went on to play for Grenoble Foot 38 in Ligue 2 and became their main left back
-
We are Macarthur and Mariners are both in the AFC Cup
-
Young 2 seasons 1 as a starter second as a backup with Niewenhuizen/Beach starting, Souprayen I think will be a stop gap signing, in a transitional season we are going to have a few unordinary signings which don't fit the traditional age bracket or player we go for, was bound to help when we lose 11 players
-
I would not be shocked if we sign another centre back along with Souprayen as my theory is we are bringing him in to sign as a backup centre back/left back which he can play both positions
-
If i was Petrillo and Rado I would go Australian for Left Back, Behich wants to leave Dundee and Alex Gersbach is the 3rd choice left back at Colarado so 2 good options, Souprayen will take up a visa slot, so I would use the last 2 on a creative midfielder and Tilio's replacement, we have also been linked with Trent Sainsbury so use him for centre back
-
He is not wrong, its essentially a rebuild so not every signing we will make will be the ideal long term solution
-
Florin Bérenguer, out of contract on June 30, has not received a new extension offer from Melbourne City, despite promises.
-
Souprayen likely will be a versatile depth signing, can play centre half or as a left back as well
-
Translates to "Samuel Souprayen passed his medical examination and today received his contract linking him to Melbourne City FC."
-
-
Don't mind that, some of the clubs we will face in ACL will be mid season and in form, we need to be match ready asap
-
I know Rado said in a press conference a few months back that basically all money from transfer fees go back into improving the academy
-
I reckon a lot of these 30+ signings are stop gap type signings tbh, players who will be here for 1-2 seasons while we wait for certain youth products to be ready to play consistently, a lot of minutes will be available with mid week ACL matches as well so plenty of opportunities
-
Young is different as age doesn't really matter with GK's, Souprayen makes no sense
-
Souprayen being a left footed centre back is interesting to me, can also play left back so maybe seen as versatile depth?
-
The fact we are trying to sign Souprayen and Miranda makes little sense to me, 3 visa slots on centre backs?
-
Will be interesting to see who we bring in as a Berisha replacement, need that more creative midfielder for that role
-
Van Der Venne?
-
I am normally sceptical when we sign players over the age of 30 but to see he had over 30 games in a top 5 league last season and his club offered him a new contract makes me have high hopes for him
-
Play him at left back I reckon
-
2 marquees slots are, I believe that Arslan will probably be a designated player so we likely have one more of those. We likely have a lot of cap space right now.
