  1. LOL - CFG only limit to spending on our squads is that the one the A-League puts on them, otherwise they would spend twice or thrice as much on us as to them its three times nothing. Lets remember Melbourne Heart was brought by CFG for twice what they paid for Scott Sinclair who is not even a automatic starter right at the moment at Celtic for SPL games. They have better Marquee/Get around the Rules Striker coming our way with Bruno going out. Edit: And before some throws the A-League Salary Cap Rule book at me, we have been shown time after time there is always away around the rules if the FFA can see the benefits of a certain player being in the League.
  2. TBH I have thought for a while that they have had someone else lined up...
  3. I take your point about the Industrial stuff I was never a fan of Work Choices but I got the point that if explained it was nowhere near as bad as the layman's perception, which was it was bad policy because it needed someone to explain it consistently... TBH it reminded of how Howard fucked up the Republic Referendum which as obvious Australian Republic even I have to say was a piece of Machiavellian Art . Work Choices was the opposite as he wanted to work, it lost the election and I know as that was the one Election I worked in as my time as an advisor. Also by this time he had already made his biggest mistake of breaking his word and not let the transition to Costello with his younger family to occur way prior to 2007 for a more modern look to a popular Government. In fact the election prior of 2007 the ALP constantly ran adds telling Australian's they would be getting smug Costello and then had to admit that the adds actually backfired. However in Howard's defence although it would have helped the party greatly if he had honoured "The Pact".. the fact is Costello should have had the balls to do one challenge like Keating. He never did and then the fact that if he had waited one term he probably would have nailed Gililard considering she almost lost to a man who was from another time in Abbott. (Mind you some credit does need to go Abbott's way in being really good at being an Opposition Leader and alas not much else.)
  4. I really dont see how a Member of the ALP Right is going to want to make this country: "Full Communist Bro" ESP seeing as it was Paul Keating who floated the Australian Dollar. If Shorten can have a Government which follows the ALP Right Template of Hawke and Keating I think a lot of Younger People who once would have automatically voted Liberals in the past will be content. Gay Marriage was seen as logical by most of the Electorate, and its one of a few social issues that the Electorate sees as such which makes the right of the Federal Government looks hopelessly out of date. Howard was able to present himself as logical to the public was a brilliant interviewer and great at hammering his points when speaking in public.. However by the end on certain issues he showed his age: I know its not black and white but he pushed it too far with Work Choices (You disagree for good reasons on this I know but it did ultimately lose the Libs a lot of votes, that cannot be denied. Also he could of done the token gesture of saying "Sorry to Aboriginals". I mean remember the big deal some people made in the Right about that? Legal Ramifications and crap... none of that happened and if he changed his mind prior to the election it would have made a dent on the polls and shown he was still relevant.
  5. Look the guy maybe as clueless as some here think, however considering the club has achieved nothing and the restrictions of the A-League to deal with (its a dumb system that sees all the Australian players drift around the league from club to clubs in their careers) it was always going to take a new Coach longer than a Season to get results. He has either started from scratch or started from IMO behind when it comes to the club's mentality, also some major decisions can only be made during a season as its only in the Season Proper that you can get a real gage on what still works. Also most Club Great Strikers have usually lost their spot in a side's during the course of a Season, this happened with almost all the big strikers at Liverpool throughout all their years of dominance.
  6. Once again an Outsider Perspective.... Bruno has been a great player for us but he also had our front third setup to utilize his ability, it was an okay plan and brought us some wins but as soon as he begins to drop off its not the best plan. And lets be honest it would appear that he has lost some pace and we are seeing a lot more of him with his back to the ball than in prior Seasons. Di Canio was a freak at Wednesday and West Ham... but there was reason he played for these clubs in his prime it was because they would select their side around his madness. He had the talent and skill to play at United but not to have United completely focus themselves around his presence.
  7. Because since the day MCFC was born the team has always needed to improve its performances in this period, its not like these decisions are being made to a side that has looked a Title Winner or even performed well enough for the expectations of it's fans. Personally, I would like to see a Manager making changes than doing nothing considering the above.
  8. The point is every Football Manager has a list of players who blame them for hindering their career when they stopped getting picked for the team... if a Manager cant put himself on the line with such decisions his in the wrong business cos these calls always have to be made at every club. Almost all the greatest players have been edged aside ESP forwards... the same thing happened more than once to Baggio let alone Bruno.
  9. I did not even watch the game so basically I have an really outsider perspective on the whole thing (Like one you had following EPL in the early-mid 90's) and read it was that Joyce tells players too do the work or fuck off to the extent that he has said to the side's star striker and does not pick him. The consequence is that in Black and White this result vindicated Joyce, he did only win 3-0 but two of three strikers he chose to play scored goals. In the Back End of the Herald Sun in 1995 if I see that result in the tiny font - I would logically think "Well clearly things worked out for him there".
  10. I have noticed people keep posting lists of blokes that have had differences with Joyce , if you made such for Ferguson right from when he started at Aberdeen all the way through his United years you would have a Short Novella. And there are a lot bigger names on that list than Bruno, all players can have a shelf life and often some the best can expire the most quickly.
  11. FFS talk about a in-joke spreading way to far...
  12. I was not at the game... in fact I was so lazy my whole interaction with the match was throw using a Browser on my phone to see just prior to the match starting line up that Joyce was using as his forwards, and well past an hour after the game I then checked the score and scorers. I then watched a reply of that cracking goal. Now I clearly admit that have no context of how the game (Sounds like Newy were awful) however it looked like an ideal Post Match Report for Joyce.
  13. I find it kind of humorous that "if" you take the line that Melbourne City is a direct continuation of Melbourne Heart, that the clubs most vocal supporters will have hold two media worthy protests against two of three club's coaches in a period of under ten years. This sounds more like the actions you would expect of frustrated Milanese blokes: A bunch of people who as supporters have seen some of world's best footballers for large parts of their lives win things and therefore they dont put up with much less... not exactly the Heart-City-Experience from what I can recall.
  14. I have meet Scott Munn a number of times in the Heart days and he seems a reasonable nice enough bloke and assisted YSIDE far more than the PPL in his position at other clubs did for their respective Active Support at the time. Since then I know he has fallen much more inline with FFA Head Office on such topics. However, I still dont know how he has his job because when its comes Sport CEO's even the best in the AFL and NRL get turned over a fair bit... in fact a lot. The AFL in Australia is the Premier League for those who work these positions (Sheer Club Support Numbers makes this undeniable) and a lot of the better known CEO's have CV's with several clubs like an Old Fashioned English EPL Manager whose been around since the early 2000's. Munn himself got his job with Heart because he was a AFL CEO for the Gold Coast Suns before the entered they AFL... Now considering the Suns are in a crippling Late Melbourne Heart like position its now been years of him being a Sport Administrator with out much too point to as a good body of work. Its great he took a pay cut for Heart but at the end of day if this was the AFL he simply would not have his job at all. The reality is the guy has been their for the formation of: The Gold Coast Suns, MHFC, and MCFC... after the first two you think it be established he is not good at being a CEO for a new sport club and this has been proven the case with City - shown most clearly by the re-appointment of JVS something that did help MHFC when it began.
  15. Munn also has always been a massive JVS fan dispute results... City should have started as I said at the time by throwing everything at Graham Arnold when it was known he was leaving the Central Coast, TBH I was then and still are baffled what this logically did not occur considering CFG's wealth. And I was right because lot things would be very different now if they had done this... MHFC got of to a shit start and MCFC then employed the exact same team of Munn and JVS when getting a second chance of a new begging and the same problems with attracting support exist. Talk about not taking anything out of History.
  16. Andrew's summed it up when he said his Government was the most progressive and busy doing things in the country, he is right just like how the Brumby (Under Brack's name or his own) Government were as well and of the course the Kennett Government... which did not sit on its arse. There is reason why Melbourne is the best place to live in Australia and easily the number one destination for young tourists... its because besides the last Liberal Government we have had Governments that actually do things rather than sitting on their arses. If ppl want a few more bucks in their wallet they should move to Perth cos they have a little bit of money under either side but absolutely sweet fuck all to do. The Libs need to sweep the Conservatives out after what will be a huge Shorten win in the election, I suspect Fyrdenberg is probably already planning to be Opposition leader after the others make each other look stupid for a year or so after Shorten's win. He will then aim to gain some publicity in getting a swing after Shorten's is elected for a second term, and then once having a younger more "Small L" team will be hoping to win office after the ALP serves its second term. The party can no longer keep hold of its outdated right... its now too large a part of the electorate that can not come close to relating to these people's views anymore. Public attitude on a number of certain things have changed quite rapidly since the Howard years. Too many people in Liberal Party are holding on to the successes of a different begone era.
  17. I cant think of any other Migration Population over the past eighty years that was "fairly or not" accused of the exact same...
  18. He means the Company "Castlemaine" which was the major Beer Brand in QLD for decades as it produced XXXX. Thats why he has listed alongside "Swan" and "Tooheys" as the Beer Companies that had monopolies at the time operating in SA and NSW like the one he mentions "Carlton" had here.
  19. Also there are a series of Melbourne Based A-League bids who could take City's place... as I posted in another topic I have always thought I second club in Melbourne would have more of chance with broad demographic in its name like: Western/Eastern or even better a larger demographic like South-East or North-West. Whats happening now is not working in the same way Heart didn't.. attendances are poor and they atmosphere at games it has be said is not exactly at a high point and that is not a dig at all at those working tirelessly to assist the club in that way, but a reflection on the FFA restrictions on Active Support and the club itself inability to attract fans by providing people with a reason to support them.
  20. One of the biggest examples of Gerrymandering is South Australia, the way the Coalition did it originally and then the ALP are both works of art IMO.
  21. Victoria was at worst in 1992... it was such a bad shape the ALP Government had to sell the State Bank when they did not want too. Even South Australia's economy was doing far better than ours. If the Chinese did not want their children to integrate they would create their own schools rather than sending their kids to the elite private schools or pay large sums of money to live in certain state school districts. They are not stupid and they realize the importance of their children speaking English.
  22. What is the Western way of life? Because what u are really referring to is a particular small time period of the Western World because the Western Way of Life has always changed dramatically from era to era usually due to interaction and influence from other cultures. At one point in time most Westerns smoked (because of interaction with Native Americans) and now most people dont, at another point everybody drank tea (because of interaction with Asia) and still a lot people still do. A huge amount of Westerners now drink Coffee (Due to coming from Africa to the Middle East then to Italy) and even Espresso Machines that dominate Melbourne life these days only came to Australia and London after WW2. Globalization has seen the Western World be able to now easily interact with the rest of the world, and so of course other cultures are so going to have an influence and be able to do even more quickly. I agree there is a part of the CBD heavily populated by stores selling Asian Food and Drinks but whose not to say that is not something that is slowly becoming another element of Western Life like Cigarettes, Tea, and Coffee all did. Personally I like to this part of the City because it does operate like Beijing that means it never falls asleep and is always alive, Melbourne in the nineties was just homeless people after 6pm so for me alongside Kennett's reforms in trading hours it has aided our CBD greatly. Being a City that now doesn't sleep is a major appeal for why Tourist from other countries and particularly other Australian Cities love our city. More importantly what do these stores and Melbourne's Fast Growing Chinese Population have done to cause any real significant disharmony in the Melbourne Community: very little. Their religion/philosophy on life is hardly at real odds with traditional Christian values. Now of course you can argue that their is obviously a language barrier and that a lot dont really converse in English but you can say that about the first generation of any Immigrants that come to Australia from Europe in the Mid 20 Century. But their Kids go to Australian Schools, speech English to their friends in Australian Accents then choose a Footy Team and then away we go as before you know Dad is taking them to a Hawthorn games at the MCG sitting alongside in your words "The Westerners".
  23. My point is at the very least being stuck in a cube rather than getting his virgins... is not what he wants. Anyway when some raises "tax payers money"... I usually cant be bothered persisting with a conversation.
  24. Um, even she has... hence her change in policy.
  25. Why? Then he gets what he wants, rather than going insane sitting a closely monitored cube in between being taken to the showers as the guards look the other way and he is repeatedly raped. Then after that he would go back to the cube and make constant futile attempt after futile attempt to take his own life. I wished he lived TBH to the ripe age of 95...
