IMO Soccer is a team game and it takes 11 blokes all working together but its goals that determines results. Ive watched many teams over the years have outstanding players and play a really nice style but can't score including us early days. We've been blessed in the last 5 or 6 seasons to have quality finishes upfront. Before the player that shall not be nameds injury he was exceptional, but to have him replaced with arguably a better and more consistent finisher has been a blessing. Maclaren should be recognised more, and I honestly believe without him we wouldn't have won anything, and yes this season so far he is in career best form and I wouldn't be surprised if he turned a few heads and silenced the many critics during the WC.

Nope not possible. Even if we are clearly the best team, say 10+plus we will always find a way to make things difficult. After 5 rounds and looking at the top 5 teams we are clearly the best team but being City we can't do things easy.

I'd be more concerned if Nabbout was smiling now. Bloke has lost his starting spot. I call BS on PK has lost lost the players, infact I'd be leaning towards the complete opposite. This season will determine if he is a decent coach, results, points and finals won. Player improvements. Style on the eye. IMO if he delivers on most of these he must be considered a good coach. How he carries on during games, and press conferences for me are of low importance, not zero, but very low.

Nope, even if he wins Asian Champions League or the World Cup there will be doubts.

Berisha has been good, actually very good. He didn't dominate yesterday but wasn't poor if that makes any sense. VDV based on yesterday was disappointing, but i really wouldn't like to judge him yet. He needs minutes.

Oh boy how results can dictate opinion. After yesterday many doubts I formed last season mainly about game management and PK have suddenly reared up.Come the second half they made a triple change after 10 minutes or so and basically nullified everything we were doing. I felt at 60/65 minutes we needed a change big time , Gomulka and Oneil were on cards, Leckie and Talbot looked gassed. We made changes but i don't think they worked. I would have liked to see, Galloway and Jamieson brought on, basically to solidify the back. So I would have dragged Talbot and Tilio , for Jamieson/Galloway and Nabbout and pushed up Bos. Gomulka change made sense, but Van der venne didntdo himself any favours, he looked like a youth player trying to get a ball and then when he got it turned it over. I'm hoping it was just trying too hard, but a little bit concerned. Obviously my observations are done with hindsight but to drop points like that will come back to bite us in May.

Wow, I thought it was superb. Negative posts seem to me to based on people's already fixed opinions and regardless of what he does or doesn't do won't change. My opinion on him is that he did an exceptional job season 1, season 2 he lost his way. Now, based on preseason and 3 games he seems to reflected on his and teams issues and has changed. Another point which I think is a little unfair being articulate does not always indicate intelligence. I think PK understands the game and potentially could be a great manager but agree his delivery and communication is limited. As any coach we've had and any future they will always divide opinion and ultimately can only be judged on results, points won/lost, finals won, players developed and ascetic style.

3 wins, 0 losses, in that last seasons 2ndand 3rd and obviously last seasons grand final winner. 1 goal conceded with +5 GD.

The game in this country is a minority sport. For decades we've been hearing about the sleeping giant, but reality is majority of the population just don't like soccer. We are battling for relevance and are probably on the same level as basketball, although basketball has improved in last 5 years, but generally speaking we are small fish. I've given up as to why.

Agree, he played last season alot in the midfield and for me was ordinary. He needs to be given 15-20 minutes and then actually do something that makes it impossible not to play him.

Wow, playing Oneil VDV and Berisha with Maclaren Nabbout and Leckie is way too attacking for PK. I would love to see it, probably wouldn't work but it would be way too risky for a Derby. I think PK will play Good or Nuno if fit and they will go to CB alongside Jamo. Bos and Talbot fullbacks. And Lam will play alongside Oneil, which will push VDV to the bench with Tilio.

You compare it to Optus, Kayo or even Stan, it's actually embarrassing and to think these idiots now control the game in this country. Foxtels last few seasons were pretty ordinary but I'd take them back in heartbeat, Paramount is completely shite.

Another Classic A League/Melb City debacle. Although not entirely Citys fault but surely their communication afterwards with that initial email should have been clearer considering what was suggested earlier. See response from my query this morning to membership(Ryan). They only let us know last week that the same deal would apply. It’s been unfortunately messy but we’re in control of the roll out at least so no delays on codes being sent out.
