Yep he will more likely than not see out his contract. Although I wouldn't be surprised if we had exceptionally poor results he could be replaced say less than 10 points by round 10 but really without a long-term committed senior coach it does very little for the confidence of the squad and even less for the people that count (us).

True. But the movement of Goalkeepers is less than any other position . I would argue that once a big club gets a quality keeper they basically hang onto him and avoid looking for change. The only times you see change is injury or retirement. Have a look at the 20 biggest clubs and their goalkeepers over the last 7 to 10 seasons.

I'm also drawing on experience. In this order. 1 Striker 2 Goalkeeper 3 central defenders 4 midfielders 5 wingers 6 fullbacks. Obviously when you have a completely amazing player of any position then at times he can carry a team but worse if you have a really weak player in any position he will cost you games and that's were my feelings of a terrible keeper can condemn the team to struggle. So if I could choose I would always choose a strong keeper.

How can a 100 cap International visa player not comand a starting position. Something not right, especially if he plays full games at a European championship. Very strange.

I think this means Novillo is gone (Unfortunately). Cahill signing if confirmed as the 3rd Marquee or loan or whatever you want to call it can only be seen as a bonus. But ultimately how to structure a well balanced efficient side is the 3 million dollar question.

Problem is that's contra to the clubs philosophy of playing good possession based attacking football. I expect we will see a cockup of both ideals and chasing our tails followed by a whole list of excuses.

Signing Cahill as a 1 year loan Marquee is absolute bonus. The soccer question is the interesting part of the question. I'm assuming we retain Bruno and lose Novillo and Mooy and get a quality attacking Midfielder. So that therefore lends to a 442 (diamond or flat) with Bruno and Tim upfront will more often than not Tim pushing onto the last man. That then frees up Bruno to roam. The only flaw that leaves us narrow unless we can get some quality wide mids or attacking fullbacks (which we lost in Garrucio and Zullo). But regardless, getting Cahill is a bonus and a good tactician can solve this purely soccer problem. That's were my concern lies. Can see some unbalanced team selections coming combined with some bizare formations next season.

Add Rogic and Wilkinson just off the top of my head. Transfer fees not only benefit the "smaller" A League clubs but would change the revenue streams for all second and third tier clubs, who incidentally get most of their income from overcharging juniors just to play. This is a massive issue even bigger than the cap discussion and needs to fixed before the game gets beyond the average kid and kills the grassroots.

I think this would actually be unique. Only problem not all teams play in the same calendars. So some teams would be playing important games. But if it could be juggled and even now and then play games at AAMI would be amazing.

So as extension to that JVS has stated this will be his last season. So that to me just points to a nothing sort of a year. The whole 'PL Experience' line sort of implied some sort of succession / long-term plan. Now with the appointment of 3 new assistants I can't see any sort of long-term thinking. It's just a messsy scenario that makes little sense.

Pretty much how I feel. If, and it's still pretty much an if. We retain Bruno for what he is happy with and get another Quality Marquee then signing Cahill on this new Marquee loan spot then can only be seen as a bonus.

But really how much influence can assistant have. It's the senior coach that ultimately determines how good an assistant will be.

Just disappointed. Firstly no change in the main position and secondly was hoping for a epl experienced assistant. This offseason has been the worst so far by a mile. Still heaps to endure but at this point in time I'm not feeling very optimistic.

Also Kosmina. If he becomes our senior coach then this club is a complete bunch of numpties.

Hangon. They've just appointed 3 not 1 assistants. If a new guy was coming in he would definitely bring in his own/new assistants. AntiScum from now on you'll be known as Anticlimax. What at absolute joke.
