Hopefully you remain so bullish after 7 rounds. The pessimism is basically we have seen all this before but 1 factor has remained constant. Anything else is just ignoring reality.
  2. Stop with all this negativity. . No sacking = no 10k this season.
  3. Any game you play is good outcome if you don't take the result for being the end product. If we don't turn up against the Wanderers to play. What's the excuse then. FMD is this ever going to change.
  4. Our preseason is Einstein definition of insanity. Doing the same things over and over again and expecting different results. How hard is it to sign 6 defenders 6 midfielders 6 forwards that can all play A League standard.

    Aaron Mooy

I think he is now developing an additional positional skill. If he can boss it from deeper that makes him an even more valuable player. If he can dominate in the championship playing that deeper Pirlo type role he may even get an opportunity at Manchester. My only querie will be his durability. Playing twice a week constantly takes its toll. Having said that he carried cracked ribs for several weeks last year. He has everything at his feet and it's great to see him taking his opportunity and making a big statement in the UK.
  6. And dying of a heart attack at 38. And dying of a heart attack at 38.
  7. I think its actually "city leopard".
  8. Good old bonbon. Getting screwed over trying to get his papers stamped. The way this transfers going he might just make it for the Christmas derby.
  9. UOTYH : @Tesla prompted this with his last post. Usain Bolt is 100% juiced up. Mirrors exactly the Lance Armstrong scenario. When Bolt gets caught it will destroy athletics permanently.
  10. Maybe. But will be very vulnerable to soft tissue injury. Look at all our previous European visa signings.

    Tim Cahill

That's why for me our next 2 maybe 3 games will determine how successful the Cahill signing could be. (Off feild ) On field I'm pretty confident he will excell. And be worthbringing him in.

    Tim Cahill

Hasn't done much so far in relative terms with spike in new members. But has atleast generated some interest.
  13. Melbourne City FC squad numbers for A-League 2016/17 season. 1. Thomas SORENSEN, 2. Manny MUSCAT, 3. Josh ROSE, 4. Connor CHAPMAN, 5. Ivan FRANJIC, 6. Osama MALIK, 7. Corey GAMEIRO, 8. Neil KILKENNY, 10. Anthony CACERES, 11. Bruce KAMAU, 12. Nick FITZGERALD, 14. Daniel ARZANI, 17. Tim CAHILL, 18. Paulo RETRE, 20. Dean BOUZANIS, 21. Ruon TONGYIK, 22. Michael JAKOBSEN, 23. Bruno FORNAROLI, 26. Luke BRATTAN, 27. Fernando BRANDAN, 28. Steve KUZMANOVSKI Intersting that #9 hasn't been used and #12 is no longer the fans number.
  14. With the squad pretty much done. It looks like the thinking is Cahill and Caceras as Mooys direct replacement. Replacing Mooy after his last season was actually almost impossible so hopefully Kilkenny Brattan Caceras Cahill as a group midfield combination will be equal if not better than last season.
  15. That's why I didn't use @Miffy. Oh Doh!
  16. I think when Franjic is fit would take Brandan wingback position and Brandan would battle Caceras for the #10 role. FWIW I think this formation is fundamentally flawed with the players we have. Chapman and Malik for me are not capable of playing in a back 3. Not saying they can't develop, but from what we've seen over the years we have been defensively naive to put it politely. And to play a complicated set up that requires astute defensive thinkers on and off the pitch we are inviting trouble. I honestly think we will play the 433 90% of the time this season. Where and how we will set up I really got no idea. Having half the list basically midfielders doesn't really help.
  17. Wingback. Definitely. Rightback nup. But in the 352 the rightsided player just uses that chanel up and down and at times will be a rightback but also a right mid and then a genuine right winger. Can work really well if the 3 cbs and holding mid understand whats required. Conte produced it well recently but for us to do it. Not sure.
