Who knows. Seems like he's holding out for a call-up for Scotland but then again, I doubt Ange would have picked him for the Socceroos squad if he wasn't 100% committed to the cause. I think its the right move. Guarantees that a few more non-a-league sides will stick around longer then the first match. Presumably the a-league teams will be heavy favourites in all matches, so immediately knocking out all the state-league teams would destroy the whole fairytale concept that the FFA are heavily pushing. That being said I really really wouldn't want to be one of the teams that is knocked out before getting the chance to take on a state team.

Really good summary. TBH after a bright start I thought we were very ordinary for the first half - back to that old floating long-ball rubbish that we endured for so long. My feeling was that a goal to Brisbane at that stage would have put them on their way. Second half much better, but I have to say both Murdocca and Hoffman gave the ball away on quite a number of occasions - as soon as we start going backwards we get ourselves into trouble. Even Engelaar was guilty of over-embroidery on several occasions. I feel JvS has a blind-spot with Kalmar - he contributed virtually nothing and he's just getting more ponderous with every game. Have to say I admire Berisha - he is just so difficult to knock off the ball - and that tackle by Kisnorbo was the defining moment of the game. Great result, but we were not at our best and JvS has plenty to work on. Kalmar did put the bull through to Duga for that missed chance in the 84th minute and held the ball okay when he came on. Serviceable player but doesn't really add anything different when he comes on other then fresh legs. Personally I think the long ball was a tactical thing to try and minimize Brisbane's pressing game rather then a case of the players panicking under pressure.

Also White Night would have ruined a fair few people the night before.

Give it time. A big win in the derby would be huge for this club. I've got 11 coming with me. Three of them are coming to their first game. Three of them are coming to their first non-JA games. A win in that match and I reckon 5-6 of them will become regulars. I'd imagine its a similar situation for a good number of others too, so the best is yet to come. A few of the Leeds fans who have been in exile since 2004 are getting around the Heart as well. This is only the beginning.

In +11. Fucking av it. Shame about Aziz. He was shattered at that yellow. Clown of a ref as usual. Mitchinson, Robbie W and Harry will come in I'd imagine. Benny G will probably come out of the team. A shame as he is a jet but those suspensions have taken a toll. Can't wait for this.

If we can push to 6th, chances are there will be a derby first final. That would be bloody amazing and could be a massive platform for us. Given the free-fall some other teams are in, we should really be pushing as hard as we can for finals.
