  1. No to Piscopo, unsure about Iredale and Leckie. Leckie because of his injury issues and if a contract extension is offered/accepted then there is no need to rush him back and best just begin to manage his recovery properly. If Iredale is offered/accepted contract what will become of Caputo? No to Vidmar. Pappas I have always respected him so this could be a good move, but why did he leave Buriram United? And to throw another name is Rik De Mil from the Belgian league who has just been sacked by KVC Westerlo (Jordie's club) for apparently throwing the last game against Gent - both Westerlo and Gent needed a point only and as the scores were tied, Westerlo just passed the ball amongst themselves (Bos had already been subbed out). Since De Mil won't face those issues in the A-League, we would have a decent European manager.
  2. The good news is that according to the Current Squad page only Ben Mazzeo remains in contract. Strangely, Caputo is down as a mid-fielder. So If Jakolis is not terminated, we only have to wait a few more weeks before it becomes true anyway. As for the game, I could see that Arslan is getting frustrated with the rest of the team - notable exceptions being Caputo, Leckie and Tilio.
  3. I agree that the team is not gelling, for whatever reason, and that a lot of players are coming off contract as is A. Vidmar. So I can presume that the club has been doing intensive scouting but to me the question remains as to whether we should keep A. Vidmar, and I really see him as a last resort.
  4. I agree. And that boils down to the coaching which either has no idea or cannot communicate the game plan to the players. Worse still is that the players have lost faith in the coaching staff and therefore decide to take the game on by themselves.
  5. I wonder whether Diamanti was the key link in organising the trip.
  6. Maybe a question of ownership and availability. Assume that CFG allow the Socceroos/Matilda's to train at Casey then that means that the ground is not available for CFG teams/staff plus the additional upkeep. For CCM who are playing in Asia, they need the ground more often as would any team playing in Asia. Is it solvable, yes. It would require a negotiated settlement by Football Australia and the owners of the ground.
  7. Saw the first half - could not work out why Yengi was there nor Taggart. Glad that the ref is not in the A-League. And hopefully Bos is not too badly injured so that he doesn't miss out the start of the Belgian season later this year.
  8. This goes back to the mid 90s when state governments started creating the corporations immediately followed by the "commercial-in-confidence". I wish I had an answer. Maybe to constitutionally ban governments from creating corporations and the dreaded commercial in confidence clauses. Of course the other core problem is that since most of the large corporations are owned by overseas investors they take all the money out but do little R&D in Oz. Hence the lowest R&D records under the coalition. Thus governments feel the need to step in. Change the tax system to one that relies on turnover and get a discount for R&D invested in Oz.
  9. At the very least they can put a link to the VPL website.
  10. Now that Auckland has snapped Corica, that is one name we will have to cross off the list.
  11. Step 1. Sack all judges in the High Court. Step 2. Allow governments or litigants time to review the judgement before making the judgement active. Step 3. Lift the ban of deporting people to 'dangerous countries' where they may come to harm. Tough shit. You were given lifeline and chose to screw it up.
  12. Not in my lifetime, not in the kid's lifetime either...
  13. Natel...Natel... Some great silky skills in the mid-field but in front of goal he freezes - twice last night; 1 v 1 and loses it. If it wasn't that by that stage City had a comfortable lead....
  14. Well the last two times City had that size win, the losing coach was unemployed by the morning.
  15. I think that Italiano and Jackson have proven excellent finds. But out of assistant coaches I thin that Zdrillic will be the one to catch.
  16. Just saw the replay of CCM vs the Bulls. Geez CCM are impressive at times.
  17. Since he got his coaching license he has been doing apprenticeship throughout Europe before joining SFC last season. He and Ulay T. have been central in the resurgence of SFC. Corica apparently was a my or highway kind of man so he did not get much input but UT is more open to his coaching staff. So unless CFG poaches Italiano from WP and we wanted a local based coach, then I think that DZ would be ready to take the next step.
  18. David Zdrillic is growing on me as a potential coach for next season.
  19. It's a pity that they are just above the relegation zone. Second goal I believe...
  20. Galloway's natural position is right back. But that spot is glued to Talbot regardless of performance. Fernandez is a natural left back. Trying to turn Galloway into a left back at this stage of his career indicates how glued Talbot is to the position.
  21. The Nix are a defensive unit that play on the counter relying on Old and Barba. I don't think that they have ever had at least 50% of the ball in any game this season. Difficult to breakdown and Poulter is a find. Luck played a lot today - Barba's miss was totally out of character and that save off the line to deny Caputo was unbelievable.
