Great game last night! Loved the semi final too. some thoughts... Caceras was excellent, very calm on the ball, will be a great signing. fitzgerald looks like an excellent bench option and will also be able to start to rest others. Provided good run. Liked the look of Malik too. If Paartalu continues to give the ball away cheaply then he will lose his spot to Malik quick smart. Brunos goal was wonderful. Novillo a joy to watch tonight. The fact that Mooy can play average and still impact the match like he did says a lot about him. Zullo excellent too. defence still looked shaky at times.

Harry was bloody lucky not to get sent off. Should have received a straight red for his kick. So to have a little tanty when you then get subbed... well that's Harry I guess. He's a short fuse. Anyone notice that we scored the goal from a long kick from defence? So why do we keep going short from the goal kicks? Against some sides it works, but when it's not working we need to change up the strategy. We put ourselves under so much pressure with dumb defensive passes. The second goal, while sure it should have been saved, how do you let a guy on his own in that much space without even opening us up with a decent pass? Still glad we fought it out and with a bit of luck we would have gotten the draw. Would like to see a bit more poise to put crucial shots on target eg Retre.

Can't see them changing the defence after a clean sheet.

After a sluggish first few minutes I was really impressed with how we played. Put Mifsud into the team for finishing and we win that match. While I didn't think we were that well organised in midfield (although Kewell bossed it really well), the back 4, particularly Wielaart and Kisnorbo, were simply awesome. That gives me massive hope for this season, we are going to be a hard team to score against with those two in the middle. I'd like to see Migliorini and Murdocca get into more positions to control the ball and pass it on, controlling the tempo of the game, although I understand that Aloisi has us playing on the counter this year so that might not suit the style. Bring on Mifsud I say, can't wait for next week... Hopefully Gol Gol will learn from tonight and have a bit more composure next game. Also, hi everyone, this is my first post, Go Heart!
