  1. In case it helps anyone public transport wise buses 372 and 393 run from Central Station in Sydney and will take you past Bar Cleveland. They can be caught from the east side of the station on Elizabeth St (between Foveaux St and Kippax St)
  2. ADP made it through training lots of stretches at the end and looked sluggish / quite disinterested when outta possession in the 11 v 11
  3. Standing at Sydney's training, ADP looks rather ginger. To be expected given recent injuries. Probably means he's likely not to play / get limited time Sunday EDIT will report after training how he pulls up
  4. Like rain on your wedding dayPretty ironic that neither of these are ironicPerhaps just stating the obvious KSK but you do know both of our last respective home and away wins were the same team? It is an amusing little stat if nothing else
  5. (1) who is responsible for directing the system / way of the play the team uses; the coach or the players? Ultimately the coach gets final say through dropping players who don't do as he says. (2) And who would do the defensive work? Given the use of Williams, Dugandzic and Ramsey as attacking midfielders (lets face the facts; our wide players sit too deep defensively be considered forwards) you could only really argue your in terms of replacing those other players, not Murdocca. If then transition improved then in turn it means transition issues relate to other players rather than Murdocca.
  6. And if Heart played less long balls and actually tried through the midfield then our transition would be much more evident and much more accommodating for guys like Murdocca. So your argument is low correlation with fact / very ambiguous since it goes both ways. The problem for your side of the argument is what defenders like Kisnorbo and Wielaert look for in terms of passing options. When was the last time you saw them force the issue by calling, directing, etc, midfielders short? The truth of the matter is that our defenders look to release the ball Long from the get go. They barely even adjust for short passes when the Long ball isn't on. They just thump it. You really need to watch the games more closely.
  7. okay time for me to chip in about Murdocca (and the rest of the midfield as a side note given what i'm about to say). our defenders love to kick the shit outta the ball. no ifs no buts they love to thump. it comes down to what Aloisi wants. as a midfielder, Murdocca gets overlooked as an out let 9 times out of 10 for this exact reason. peeps hating Murdocca, you need to thoroughly consider that and what it does to transition. good. you've had the time. majority of long balls are often won by opponents (ie why a useless mutt Toper Stanley is still in the A League FFS; the dog doesnt get a jersey each week for the way he plays the ball or for his speed) so now think some more. excellent. our two holding midfielders get killed on transition. not because they are shit but because long balls force them to constantly reset. and, if your opponents are any good (being in the A League they probably are), then whenever you give up the ball (which tends to happen more often than not with long balls) then your opponents will figure out a way through. they will work shit out. and if Murdocca and Miglirini are always transitioning then they doing the right thing by running all over the shop to fucking transition. its not rocket science. they will get drawn out / make a mistake in trying to constantly run. its like the haters think that all opposing players are dumb shits or something as if opposing players will never work out what heart are doing. a few people have nailed it in that comes down to the way the Heart play systemically, not the actual players in isolation. Murdocca has been for me in our top couple of performers this season by far. people just have to take his performances in context of what is actually expected.
  8. That's just it. You don't build your team around 1 or 2 players unless (a.) you are a rookie coach or (b.) your coach is a former elite level goal poach of a forward. Oh..... wait.....
  9. FWIW I'm in Sydney for the week so I don't really have access to any replays. I'd love to watch a replay to see some of the finer details but that won't be just yet. Being at the game yesterday I was pretty stoked with a point. Yes there was plenty of hairy moments and we probably got lucky on a few occasions. For me however that's just it; we actually got an away point outside of Melbourne. Talk about other records, we broke our duck. And we were actually 1-0 up. That doesn't mean I'm the most optimistic bloke with the current regime. Sometimes you just have to take the positives. Particularly against the best regular season team last year.
  10. Haha given his little game time you could extend that to we are undefeated when in the match squad. What do you reckon, just kit him up every week
  11. Certainly was the best of a number Sheepdog haha !!!! Mind u the chant about Wanderers cheering about hitting the post was gold. Still laughing at the fact even the Wanderers were cheering us on.
  12. If you reread my post I didn't actually say they should sit 'defensively' behind rather sitting behind. Some might not see the difference but consider Bresciano's resurgence for the national team. How often, when paired with Milligan, did u see Bresciano collect the ball from a deeper position than Milligan? We know how good Bresciano's passing range is. By playing him deeper he could collect possession more easily and direct play while Milligan runs around like a headless chicken. Same approach at Heart might prove useful. Only a suggestion tho.
  13. when watching the game last week, i came to the conclusion that Heart might be better off playing the three in midfield like you say but with a player (Mauk or Kalmar) sitting behind Murdocca and Migliorini. ultimately that would mean dropping one of the three attacking mids, which also means; (1) there is an extra option for playing it short outta the back so we can then build the play up more / actually play to the strengths of our players by playing the ball on the deck, and (2) players can no longer just lump it long with the hope the number 10 role / player in the hole (ie Williams from the last few weeks) can pick the ball up the many times our short arse forward gets out jumped. mind you, Aloisi seems to love the long ball so chances are nil that he'll change it
  14. "......at least he gets into position to fuck up.". LOL. One of the funniest things I've ever read. Pure gold, simply pure gold. Please tell me you're taking the piss.I'll put it this way; was at the game so haven't seen the replays post game to double check but IIRC Mifsud fucked up 3-4 clear cut opportunities in the first half (check post time stamp, was made at halftime). Other forum users on the game thread say as much. So.... 1. Was this not the case? 2. To be clear cut, don't you have to be "in position" first (otherwise how can it be clear cut)? As I posted earlier (although maybe to further clarify) I was disappointed with the guy he shoulda scored at least one Sorry Matty, it just sounds so Monty Python. It's reminds me of that beautiful scene in Life of Brian where they argue about Stan's right to have babies. The inevitable reply, "what's the point?? What's the point of fighting for Stan's right to have babies, when he can't have babies?? Where's the foetus going to gestate, keep it in a box??" What's the point of Mifsud getting into position when he's just gonna fuck it up!?!? Hahaha makes sense in context And in terms of a consistent forward that's the million dollar question.

  16. What pub is for predrinks?
  17. Some of his first half leaves me happily eating humble pie. By God he does leave some things to be desired. On a side note tho, at least he gets into position to fuck up. Given the inability of others to do so, I question if we are using the right structure / if Mifsud is in the right spot. Just floating it tho
  18. all week i've been pretty down about the lose-lose for the game. one way or the other we fucked; we win and Aloisi keeps the job or the guy goes and our season is pretty well done. funnily enough they said on the Sydney- Newcastle game tonight that Farina has just had his "One Year Anniversary"; given the mess those mutts are always it has been a good signal of doing the right thing early with a coach (all be it that Crook pulled the plug and fucked off - mind you it Farina is not all that much chop either) given Sydney sit 2nd (at time of posting - WSW play Wellington team tomorrow).
  19. is there a pre-drinks spot for the game? outta curiosity how many are doing both games (and even staying there for the week)?

    Aloisi Out

Yeah that's gold. Although you could change the three outs to 'get the f#*! Out' if you wanted to get a bit more assertive with it. I take it you'd start the chant soft and then get progressively louder ? Just a suggestion. Play with it as you wish! But I envisaged the Capo or a small group doing the "Aloisi" and the rest of the mob doing the "Out" parts as loud as they can. by all means i love it. could be a faire goer

    Aloisi Out

it is sung to When Johnny Comes Marching Home (the same one as the Alex Terra chant) Aloisi Out he came to coach with much promise, he did, he did he's coached for 18 months and is shit, is shit he plays it long with no idea, he gives opponents nothing to fear, time to piss off, Aloisi Out, Aloisi Out NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA time to piss off, Aloisi Out, Aloisi Out
  23. was wondering if this might be a good chant for the second half (with the first half for the sit down and all) i've put it in the chants section too, but thought forum might be a little better / more popular in terms of the chant either getting trackion or shot down. it is sung to When Johnny Comes Marching Home (the same one as the Alex Terra chant) Aloisi Out he came to coach with much promise, he did, he did he's coached for 18 months and he is shit, is shit he plays it long with no idea, he gives opponents nothing to fear, time to piss off, Aloisi Out, Aloisi Out NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA time to piss off, Aloisi Out, Aloisi Out
  24. given the miss-hit and the two offsides you do have a bit of a point. mind you, who can you say has had a good day? Migliorini only scored due to a deflection and no one else has gotten close
  25. agree whole heartedly, the sooner he is gone the better
