  1. But did you see how all those goals were the result of a great cross into the box. How do we'll accomplish that part of the equation?
  2. All strikers struggle if they don't have the players behind them who can feed them the ball.
  3. Absolutely. Also what a farce that, of all teams, we have to look at an ex Victory player. We should be able to do a lot lot better.
  4. I am actually not worried about Bruno being dropped. Since his injury he hasn't had the mobility or fluidity that he once had and his confidence is very low. What does annoy me is: A. The lack of proper communication and B. The lack of decent wingers and/or a backup striker and C. The continued failure to have a competent and consistent team. Losing MOH has been a big problem but, for heaven's sake, the team should not be about one player.
  5. I have also thought about either stopping the automatic roll over or cancelling completely. On checking the conditions of membership it seems that, if you are on the monthly instalment option, you can cancel without penalty after paying 5 installments. If, like me, you are on the automatic rollover you would already have paid 6 installments. Seriously considering this.
  6. Make that 4,790. My wife and I won't be going. First time we have ever deliberately not attended.
  7. Disagree. You have three options. 1. Be vocal at the games or 2. Vote with your feet and don't attend or 3. Cancel your membership I am at the second level and not far of the third. After two years of depression this year has produced disinterest. No fun, no flair, no entertainment. I would rather go out to dinner.
  8. Agree with what Mr Mo says. Victory have established themselves as a team that succeeds or is in there trying. Melbourne Heart, and now particularly, City, have never demonstrated this attitude. I would suggest that as soon as another Melbourne team come along there will be a lot more than 20% leaving to join them.
  9. As I watched Berengeur take the penalty I knew we had problems. It was the same slow hesitant run up that did Fornaroli no good. We definitely seem to need work done in this area.
  10. The terrace deserve a medal tonight. Lots of noise and kept going all night. Keep it up, you made the night even better
  11. Agree wholeheartedly with this as one aspect. The thing is to make the whole atmosphere around the club exciting. Winning is obviously number one, but the match day experience and buzz during the week is needed. At the moment we feel very flat.
  12. Yes, we are running about 1,500 behind last year. In membership numbers we are sixth - even Brisbane have more members than us. Not a good look.
  13. And how will they know whether it's a safe flare or not?
  14. Ah, but they are talking about most of it being underground.
  15. However Ramy Najjarine obviously played well and featured three times in the article.
  16. Interesting that statistics-based website FiveThirtyEight have crunched the numbers of 576 footballs clubs from around the globe to see which are the strongest and the weakest. According to them Huddersfield rates at 113 and Celtic 115. So Daniel is doing as well as Mooy (if this rating is to be believed)
  17. As some input to the question "how does the a-league compare to other leagues?". http://www.goal.com/en-au/news/how-a-league-sides-fair-in-global-club-rankings-as-melbourne/1s9kb3gh91dma1t2t5ht1zuxl9 Website FiveThirtyEight have crunched the numbers of 576 footballs clubs from around the globe to see which are the strongest and the weakest. " Unsurprisingly, no A-League side cracks the top 100, but after claiming a fourth championship Melbourne Victory are the highest ranked sitting at 185th - two places higher than English side Leeds United. A little further back sit Sydney FC in 193rd with Superliga side VĂ©lez Sarsfield and Swiss side Zurich on either side of the Sky Blues. Going down the list Melbourne City are 277th, Newcastle Jets 354th, Western Sydney Wanderers 403rd, Perth Glory 409th, Brisbane Roar 416th and Adelaide United 426th. Wellington Phoenix have been ranked 500th with last season's wooden spooners Central Coast Mariners rounding out the A-League contingent at 528th. The dreaded final spot on the 576 strong list went to English League Two outfit Grimsby Town."
  18. Fourfourtwo are holding a poll on the expansion. https://www.fourfourtwo.com.au/news/poll-pick-the-next-a-league-club-498508 They don't give a total number of votes but the spread so far is Canberra 33% Woollongong Wolves 29% South Melbourne 18% Team 11 7% Western Pride (Ipswich). 4% West Melbourne (Geelong) 2% Southern Expansion 2% Brisbane City. 2% United for McArthur 2% South West Sydney 1%
  19. And Iniesta isn't one of them. He has gone to Japan for 40mill a year
  20. Ditto. Not well written questions and not sure what information they will give. They asked how long I had been a member twice. Also they asked if I was involved with any fan group/club. Other than active and FRG what are these?
  21. How about a poll for pass/fail. I'd give it a fail.
  22. "went down too easy". If that was the reason they gave it's atrocious. If you watch he attempted to keep playing.
