There's something fundamentally wrong. Partly manager, partly players, partly dressing room, but it runs much deeper and higher than any of these factors.

There has been "something wrong" with this club for quite a while and it is certainly a lot deeper than players and coaches. There is a total lack of passion, excitement and pride in every aspect of it.

The team fails to give joy or a belief that they will perform each week. The club is a faceless corporation. The supporters are not made to feel a part of the club. It so appears to be a business focussed on the financials. One wonders where we would be without the loyal, rusted on soccer tragics.

I know I am a miserable bugger but it frustrates me. So much that could be and isn't.

It shows we are engaging or building our attendances as crowds haven't grown at all. Particularly disappointing given how good we have been the past 3 seasons.

Feel our average fan is a bit too fair weather and even losing one game puts them off going the following week...

I actually don't think it's primarily the fans at fault. What we have is an entertainment product. I feel it all starts with the club. If they actively promoted themselves and delivered an entertaining atmosphere this would attract more spectators. More spectators gives more atmosphere and attracts more spectators - and here we go.

I don't think he's up to it either. But that does not conflict with my sympathy for him. He has Erick there as an advisor, and so my reading of it is that there is more to this behind the scenes than just PK. Just as I think that there's more to what's happening at Casey Fields than just Rado. Two of our players left without completing their contracts, this season's players don't look happy, and I'm uncomfortable with our walk out in Adelaide, which, whatever happened, sounds more like a sulk than there was a genuine threat to them. We too are being kept in the dark. Zero build-up to our ACL match in China this week. No squad information. No fitness news or Mat Leckie's injury update, no pics of the stadium or information on on Zhejiang, and so on. Incidentally they won this week 3-0 and are lying 3rd in the China Super League.

    You mean nothing's changed?

  5. Interesting comment from Daniel Lévy on why he appointed Ange Postecoglou at Spurs

"who understood our DNA, would play attacking football, that would give young players a chance, believe in the academy, would build a relationship with the fans and understand the resources that we have and don’t have as a club and be part of a team."

Sounds exactly what we want from our coach, club and players

I went to Matildas last night and I hope one day we could get a quarter of the crowd we got last night because the atmosphere makes a hell of a difference

And a lot of that atmosphere comes from having a strong active group. Something that MCFC needs to support and promote.

I'm a member of the FSAA - https://fsaaus.com/. I've raised this issue with them this morning. Membership costs nothing and at least the FSAA does get to talk with APL. Whether we will ever get a formal seat at the table - well, I doubt it but we have to keep trying.

I'm not in the structure of the FSAA so I have no vested interest in suggesting that City fans consider joining and thereby giving more strength to its arm, other than trying to help the league survive.

Thank you JW. Knew nothing about the FSAA. I have now joined - it seems to be free?? This is just what was needed. Hopefully they will gain traction and become a strong supporter voice.

It could be included under the general "club supporter conduct" heading. IMO City need to get the unsavoury element in our active under control to avoid us getting clobbered. And I don't think we are Mr. Popular amongst the clubs because of CFG.

The club AND active need to work together to control this. Shouldn't be that difficult.

Geez this feels a bit pointless, and can't imagine how few votes we will get this week, especially if we lose, but voting is as follows.

Just three voters this week spread across 4 players,

As JW noted - more and more people ("members") of this club are joining the ranks of the disinterested. Heart was fun and family. It no longer is.

I know people will say that we are being negative, but this is what fan engagement, or lack thereof, is really about. Back a few years in the Heart days we had a full announced schedule of matches all around Melbourne, including Oakleigh, Frankston, Langwarrin, Springvale, Port Melbourne, Veneto Club, etc., we'd get to chat with the bench, see new signings, triallists, the kids could get autographs, there were merchandise sales, food and refreshments etc., and it had a personal touch to it all.

This is exactly the problem. In the Heart days we felt part of the club, it felt like a warm family. It now seems like members are an inconsequential.

I don't agree that "he has given us our first premiership and championship". I see it as the team winning despite PK rather than because of him. The momentum of the team has carried him through but now, after two years, the lack of any dynamic progression is starting to show.

Your choice but I think that's a pretty poor reason. And I mean that specifically down to the reasons you mentioned. People all over the world support their club with frustration. Yet we're top of the table and one game away from a title defence. I would guess 90% of supporters around the world support a club that underperforms.

My guess is its not the reasons you mentioned because they make no sense in the broader football landscape. Secondly since PK tool over weve won trophies.

Maybe its about the club itself or fan engagement/connection etc.

Sorry, but you read my frustration all wrong. I have supported clubs in my life who have never been world beaters or top of their league. Indeed my local NPL club is in the bottom half of the table. However what all of them had was passion, playing for the jersey, some predictability and the ability to sometimes produce the unexpected flash of brilliance. I have been supporting this club since its beginnings and can say I got a lot more pleasure in the Heart days. What I am now being served is frustration, exasperation, and no feeling of the passion and connection I used to get. MCFC is still "my club" but I will wait until they show more of what I desire in a club before I fully engage again.

  13. Right there is the reason I have finally pulled the plug on this team. Cannot stand the frustration of the inconsistency. PK in particular was always a disaster waiting to happen and it has been unsurprising to see the gradual loss of competence in the team from what it was like when he took over.

Will continue to follow my local NPL side. Much more passion.

I can understand him getting frustrated at times but for goodness sake Patty calm down and let the boys play . he is driving me insane with all his micro management  and dancing around pointing and screaming at players. it is no wonder that the players are getting confused when he tells them where to run to etc.

I think he is a poor manager. He is very lucky to have had the quality of players in the team to make him look good.

     a couple thousand spectators.

That's the number that attend. There are probably many more who are staying low and watching at home at the moment and who will/could attend in the future if they are attracted.

    He has never been good.

Our defence has always made him look better then what he is. If we actually had a half decent backup he'd be sitting on the bench by now

I doubt that given what I see as PK's inability to analyse games.
