I'm usually pretty suspicious of promo bets but this one is too good to pass up on.Ladbrokes offering $2 for Geelong to beat the Carlton midstrengths
probably shitty $20 max bet
Yea it was,
So I went;
$20 on Geelong @ $2
$10 on Carlton @ $4.33
$1 on draw @ $81
Not a huge return but its a free $9 so I'm not going to say no to it
Do you actually need to cover the draw, I assumed the payout is just halved if there is a draw given there are ony 2 outcomes listed.
Yes draw had to be covered. Bookmakers won't pay half on drawn games as your selection has not won the match. Understand where you are coming from though.
Betfair is different, as your betting against another punter you'll receive half the dividend.

Anyone been to the South Pacific before? Going on a cruise in November, just wondering if there's any must-see things to do at the various ports
Each to their own but I don't understand the appeal of cruising. Being isolated to one place at times for numerous days, crammed situations with loading and unloading passengers and then only getting enough hours to get the slightest glimpse at a location.
Not to mention the amount of places which really come alive at night. When generally your back on the ship already departed.

JVSwell, half the forum has now analysed my fucking kitchen but that's ok, no secrets here
Who do you guys reckon Carlton should be chasing as our new senior coach for 2016?
Brett Ratten.

Don't ruin a perfectly good microwave.

Define write off...? Not finishing in the top 3 (a team of our resources certainly should be). It's looking 90% sure that JVS is staying now, next season is already a write off if that is the case. Happy to negotiate a wager with anyone that opposes this view.
Top 3 in the regular season or a GF appearance I win. Anything else Tesla wins. $100?

Speaking of betfair, interesting article http://m.heraldsun.com.au/sport/superracing/blinkers-off-betting-exchange-fluctuations-that-put-the-fear-in-trainers/story-fnibcgg5-1227349375303
Nothing surprising there, the market is the most powerful force known to man and so an exchange is obviously going to be more accurate than bookies, most the time anyway.
Decent read. All you have to do is look at an on track bookmakers laptop and 9 times out of 10 Betfairs site is up.

52K last night. No doubt the soccer had a major impact on that.

Kennedy out with backspasms ffs.
For real?

I will say though, if we win.....
Ill be there on GF Day and will consume more alcohol than Sydney or Adelaide combined
This is something I'm rather curious about. If we are lucky enough to beat Victory. What sort of numbers will travel for a GF. Would suspect around 1000 seeing that either Adelaide or Sydney are the two most accessible away matches.

all of level 2 sold out
there are still plenty of seats remaining in reserved C (on the bays each side of the city active area). Hopefully they can be all filled with city supporters
I think you'll see a lot more City supporters at this Etihad Derby then any other. For one, every Victory supporter will have to pay for there ticket. It's not just swiping there membership card. Secondly, City supporters realise this is the last time they'll see there side. There may be many Victory supporters that hold out to a potential home GF next week.

Had no idea how bad these muppets were going. Laughable.

The form of Collingwood and seeing it's their home game higher 60's would have been expected. Will be interesting to see the crowd size at the G, what would it normally get for these two teams, 60k?
Even with the derby on I still think the game will attract over 60. You coming up Friday night?
Na unfortunately not. Couldn't convince the Mrs on a potential 2 trips in 2 weeks. So taking the chances on a possible GF. Plus if its Sydney Geelong play and if it's Adelaide it's the Goodwood Handicap at Morphetville. So hoping to make a weekend out of it.

I have a feeling there will be sufficient votes this time for a runner up.
Anyone in our back 4 would be a deserving winner.
-
Doesn't matter how shit Geelong are we always beat Richmond... no wonder their fans hate us so much.
You heading to Etihad or MCG Friday night?
-
Pretty keen on Geelong winning tomorrow. $2.25 looks a good price.
-
Unless we clone Mooy 10 times we're no chance. In very similar form to when we were belted 3-0 by Perth in our only other final.

Stumbled across this old article. After hearing Cadete often refer to Essendon's salary cap breaches when they won the 93 flag.
Not having a crack at anyone just an interesting read. Had no idea how many breaches there had been
-
I reckon he was told about the takeover with Man City hence why he signed. Why else would he sign with a last placed team? $$$I love that Mooy was a heart signing and possibly a JA signing
This isn't the case Mooy agreed to terms well before the City takeover.

We can't beat top sides with David Villa let alone Melling.
Well we have beaten Victory, Sydney and Adelaide also drawn twice with Wellington.
The point I was trying to make is that Melling provides the physicality and pressure in the middle that no one else delivers. In finals football this was crucial for us.
Simply can not be replaced.

Betfair is different, as your betting against another punter you'll receive half the dividend. Honestly I wasn't convinced by this as the draw markjet would surely be getting more attention, couldn't find it at most bookies I looked, finally found it at sportsbet under the handicap market, makes sense having it there but I wasnt convinced it applied to h2h still. So I asked in live chat at Sportsbet, and they confirmed that the winnings are in fact halved, going to check at William Hill next and see what they say.
EDIT: confirmed at William Hill as well, dead heat rule applies.
Apologies, this has certainly changed then.
Great day yesterday, Boban the highlight.
