  1. Did you connect your social media accounts first?
  2. No 3rd kit comp this year. Also 3rd kit would still need approval so FFA would knock it back surely?
  3. Williams had a groin strain, which is why he didn't play. I think they don't expect him to be out look (more precautionary) but idk.
  4. And yet the intro voiceover talks about the matchup between the blue and the red and white. (Instead we can now look forward to the game between the dark blue and the light blue! No, not that team, the other light blue team.)
  5. SBS reckon it'll rate better on 1, I have no idea but they know their ratings better than me. Hopefully they are right.
  6. There is actually debate over whether or not white is a colour at all I've had this debate. It's a fucking color! Its not. Its the absence of colour Physics:
  7. Good to see he's signed for two years, we've had a constantly changing group of players from one year to the next and I'd love more continuity from season to season. Also I'm pleased that he's showing commitment to the club and will have to be accountable over two years. Hope he delivers on the pitch.
  8. PT to Fisherman's Bend is nowhere near as good as PT to Richmond.
  9. http://www.goal.com/en-au/news/4019/transfer-zone/2014/07/07/4941531/melbourne-city-tight-lipped-on-lampard Rebranded? Urgh really.
  10. White centre stripe wouldn't work with the collar though.
  11. Yeah, after we finally won was a good moment; I've never seen so many people stay after the final whistle and it was a great atmosphere.
  12. I think they're not promoting beyond social media because they're presumably going to put the prices up post 27 July, so why not wait to target new supporters after that and then sign new fans up for more money?
  13. Yeah I'd like that too. I was actually hoping we might go for a red and white hooped away shirt one season but A. the fucking Wanderers and B. I guess not now.
  14. Possibly part of the reason for the lack of a geographic area is the relatively short history of both clubs (and also maybe because when Victory entered the competition there was only one team to support in Melbourne, so people just came from whereever and never concentrated somewhere to begin with?) Having said that, Sydney does have a divide so the lack of one is clearly also related to the geography/character of Melbourne.
  15. Not really, as far as I know. Melbourne is a fairly centralised city so it doesn't lend itself to having fans grouped like that (unlike Sydney). I think I remember hearing that quite a few of our fans are from the south eastern suburbs, but that's a big area in Melbourne so not sure you could read much into it (could just be colloration). I guess Victory are hoping to get in with the population of Geelong (a city right near Melbourne, in the south west, further around Port Phillip Bay) by playing a game down there, will have to wait and see how that goes/if they persist with it.
  16. I really hope so. The club has been working hard on the community programs for girls, including putting on free clinics, so hopefully that will continue and be expanded to more long term projects. If they said that, then that's really a joke. Okay, maybe there isn't that much talent in Melbourne alone for a W-League team, but no W-League sides fully depend on their home city for players. And there's certainly enough talent across Australia to form a 20 player W-League team. And teams are allowed 5 foreigners (which are pretty easy to get, as the W-League doesn't crossover with a lot of womens' leagues, so for instance lots of Americans join the W-League). So that's a real cop out for someone on the Heart books like Bolton to come out and say that Melbourne couldn't form a second W-League. It really should just be a given that Heart will get a W-League side, and soon enough. Surely this is an assumed benefit that City can actually deliver on, as it's also meant to be something they believe in (i.e. the women's game). Part of the problem is that for the w-league you don't get paid much, so moving cities to play is more of a barrier. Having said that, I really really want a w-league side so I hope we do get a team and soon. (I also hope I get to see them play in red and white... would be bittersweet to see them turn out in sky blue after waiting so long to see a women's side in Heart's red and white not Victory's blue.)
  17. While I remember, for everyone who was hoping that Man City buying us meant finally getting a w-league team, this was sort of addressed at the Women with Heart afternoon tea - Ash Brown was a guest speaker (for those that don't know her, she plays for Victory w-league and was playing for the Matildas before doing her ACL (twice, seriously there are too many ACLs in women's football)) and she mentioned that there wasn't much depth in the Victory squad as it was so she didn't think Melbourne could support two w-league teams. And then Bolton agreed with her and mentioned that FFV and FFA were also concerned about that . So bad news there, although that was not an official statement from the club.
  18. Don't think they'd care about away supporters, because there aren't that many. It's more that in promos/highlights packages you'd have two sky blue teams playing which the casual viewer might not realise are separate teams... still I don't think Foxtel cares if someone see us score a great goal and thinks 'gee Sydney is going alright'.
  19. One game of rugby and one game of Rugby League. (just get frustrated that people down here seem to think its the same game, even though they split over a century ago!) On the weather front i thought Saturday was dry and Sunday was wet? Needs to be for the pitch to cope. +1000000000 Gives me the absolute shits that people down here don't know the difference or that the word "Rugby" refers to Union and not league. It's because people don't give a damn. There is nothing wrong with the first sentence apart from what it means for the pitch. Hope it's not too appalling. Who knows, maybe Mate will get another assist.
  20. I've just been getting a generalised error message. Such a hassle, one of the things I like about having a membership is avoiding this bullshit.
  21. No, his membership card is useless for the derbies, you/he will need to print out the ezyticket you'll be sent to your email and take it along. Alternatively you can go down to the ticket office at the ground on the day, queue up, and ask them to reprint you a ticket. (Technically I think they can charge you for this? Not sure, it hasn't happened to me on the rare times I've done it.) $2 to be sent a ticket is ridiculous, as is the almost $6 to be sent it by text. What a rip off.
  22. I cannot see us making the finals, realistically we have to win most of our games and hope the other teams trying to make the finals do badly. And start winning away, consistently. Don't get me wrong, we should still be trying to play well to set ourselves up for the offseason on a good note, but if we wanted to make finals we should have sacked JA much earlier.
