  1. Heard an interesting name thrown up last night from a contact who has been right before, Sam Allardyce. Yes I know he is currently with West Ham, but the expectation is Sam and West Ham will part ways before the end of this season, and he will be available for next season. Apparently new owners are after a high profile appointment, but will wait until Sam is sacked, as this will reduce his price. In the interim new coach for remainder of season will be internal, only I don't know who.
  2. After we sack Aloisi and Foxe, as in interim measure for the remainder of season Alistair Edwards with Gary Phillips as his assistant. Edwards had the courage to pick young players, something JA has not done. In the long term for next season I would like to see somebody like Francisco Ferraro, former Argentine youth coach. He knows how to develop young players.
  3. It's not just Aloisi's fault. The board must resign as well. Remember it was the board that chose JA over Ante Miicic (look how he is going at WSW). They chose JA because he was a better "face" for the club; better for marketing. Just where in this decision does football on the park rate? Milicic tod the board what to do, he wanted an experienced assistant. So what does our board decide? 1) We put marketing ahead of football. 2) We will pick an inexperienced coach with only one year at youth level. 3) We appoint Hayden Foxe an inexperienced coach as assistant. 4) We allow Ante Miicic who served two years as an apprentice to John Van Scipp to leave. 5) We pat ourselves on the back for saving all this money 6) We refuse to acknowledge our errors and allow this club to spiral into the abyss. The board have a lot to answer for. They must resign and hand back the licence to the FFA. They do not deserve to make a profit after what they have done to our club.
  4. Don't blame the Ref, he got the decision right. I asked my mate who is a Heart member and a ref and he confirmed he would have given a straight red too. We can't complain about refs when they make the right call. Blame Knisnorbo for putting the Ref in that situation by putting in such a reckless tackle.
  5. They lied to us. They said they would develop young players; Can you name just one player who has developed under John Aloisi? They said they would play the beautiful passing game; Instead I see a long ball over the top game, Even Ernie Merrick and Kevin Muscat coach teams that play better football than us.
  6. Exactly my point when SM came out and said this the other day i totally lost faith in the morons at the club ....... "Munn defended Aloisi. "John is the ultimate professional and Bozza is paid to give an opinion, one that is not necessarily an educated one. But that's fine," Munn said. "Fox Sports is good for the game, but Bozza probably lost a bit of respect from some people after last night's silly statement." Everyone outside the club can see theres a problem bar the morons running it. How the hell does Bozza lose respect for stating the obvious? That takes laughing stock to a whole new level What else is Munn going to say? He has to be seen to be defending his coach, at least until the moment he knifes him in the back.
  7. There is a difference. WSW are Lebanese, Greek, Croatian, Albanian, Italian, Macedonian, Scots etc etc etc. South Melbourne are Greek and Greek Cypriot and nothing else. WSW has united the tribes, just like Victory did in 2005. South Melbourne Hellas are only one tribe.
  8. The following Olympic Champions have died; (Part 1) Calvin Fowler, USA, Basketball Sabine Bischoff, West Germany, Fencing Mirja Hietamies, Finland, Cross country skiing Pietro Mennea, Italy Athletics David Bond, United Kingdom, Sailing Yury Rudov, U.S.S.R, Fencing Soraya Jiménez, Mexico, Weightlifting Ronnie Smith, USA Athletics Nicolae Martinescu, Romania, Wrestling Aleksandar Kozlina, Yugoslavia (Croatian), Football Angela Voigt, East Germany, Athletics Alberto Valdés, Mexico, Equestrian Andrew Simpson, Great Britain, Sailing Judit Ágoston-Mendelényi, Hungary, Fencing Nino Bibbia, Italy, Skeleton Edward Stevens, USA, Rowing Petrus Kastenman, Sweden, Equestrian Sharon Stouder, USA, Swimming Alain Mimoun, France (Algerian) Athletics, Marathon.
  9. His job is to turn supporters into members.
  10. Heart 3 Phoenix 0. Phoenix look like they have lost their best player Paul Ifill. Their defence is so slow, and with Harry now playing we have somebody who can get the ball through their leaky defence, to Mate, Willo and Gol Gol up front. It will be like the second half of the Adelaide game.
  11. Why would you boycott a game we will win? Phoenix are nothing without Paul Ifill, and he collapsed in today's game with a possible season ending injury. The nix are the worst team in the A-league. After what we have gone through this season, I am definitely going Friday to watch us have our first win for the season. You should all show up to support our boys.
  12. Isn't John DiDulica a Football person? Or does his grass roots history with North Geelong (a Croation club) not count?
  13. I hear Newcastle have 11,300 members. Their membership is good value too, $155 adult $115 concession, $330 family (2 adults, 1 kid), or $350 for 2 kids. Sorry about earlier error.
  14. It's not an issue. He carries an Australian passport (as well as EU), therefore he is classed as Australian and will not fill a visa spot. My concern with him is that he is a hack, not his surname or what passport he carries.
  15. Because the team is really unfit and has been all season. Out of all the players that went to play for Australia, ours are the only ones that have needed rest. Good point. I hate to say it but Archie Thompson was also in the East Asia cup squad and played as much as Richie Garcia, yet Postecoglou does not rest Thompson. Look how Thompson has performed since he got back, and he is a GERIATRIC......Yet we rest 2 important players for a crucial game against Wellington. Surely at least one of them could have started on the bench? How important would their experience have been in the last 20 minutes?
  16. In the mean time, why not get the "theatre goers" to our games.
  17. I'm not so sure the crowd will be small. I expect 7 to 8 thousand. There were a lot of people at last night's game who came to see Heskey who were turned away because GA sold out. Some of them will be back to see Heskey, knowing they will get in. I think we will get a decent crowd. By the way, I was part of that 2,700 crowd. It was midweek , wet and freezing. The only good thing about that the coffee queue was not large. Tuesday will be 24 degrees, the crowd will be a good one.
  18. There's always the races at Flemington......(just kidding).
  19. So what you are saying is that we are happy to be a small, niche club, that doesn't win anything? The problem with remaining small is that advertisers and sponsors will no longer provide support. Western Bulldogs and North Melbourne struggle to find sponsors, Collingwood turns them away. If we continue to have 5000 crowds and 6000 members (including many phantom junior members given away as part of the family membership), will Westpac be as willing to sponsor the club come next agreement? Westpac and the like are not benevolent institutions. We need to get large to match Victory for crowds and members. I want to be bigger than victory. We must think big, act big and spend big to become big. Trying to get David Beckham was a good short term move, but we need to do much more. A lot of heart members want us to be an exclusive, niche club. Whilst it may make us feel good, it will not be good for us long term. The old NSL was full of exclusive niche clubs, who also drew 5000 crowds.
  20. I had a friend of mine say, "Heart is Victory mark II. The only difference is one wears red and the other wears blue, that is all." Both clubs are marketed to the same people. I fear Les is right. Already Western Sydney have surpassed the heart in support and atmosphere at the ground. Why? There is a clear distinction between the clubs and supporter groups, the silvertails of Bling FC v the working class Westies. It works, because they target different supporter groups, and divide the city between them. Heart have failed to do that. Our identity is "we are not them" whoever "them" are. Victory train at Monash, we train at Latrobe. It's logical then that we should have targeted the Northern Suburbs, north and west of the Yarra, i.e divide the city in two. That means we also get Geelong, Ballarat, Bendigo. Shepparton, play pre-season matches in these towns and places like Epping and Sunshine. We can then concentrate our clinics in these areas as well. Then we too can have one support group from the "treeless plains" v another from the "leafy.hills " and divide the city. Right now, it is embarrassing that we are well outnumbered at our home game. In ten years time Western Sydney will be the biggest, or second biggest club in Australia, so why not Heart?
  21. Hi, i'm the guardian, and am a heart member. Don't go to all games, but try to get to as many as I can.
