  1. I get the point, but from what id heard arzani had basically said he was going either way so cfg either decided they wanted to keep in the stable or they cashed in. And they kept him in the stable cos they thought he was good enough. Ultimately i think his downfall has been a combination of shit attitude and not finding his way back after doing his knee, which is far from uncommon. He def left at least one season too early and tbh, his tale has been almost the go to as far as cautionary ones go ever since; every talented kid geta pointed to arzani when they get a couple foreign offers.
  2. We still might. I think the likely outcome here is that Glover is going to head elsewhere, or that we'll look to a 3rd keeper.
  3. Yeh im not too sure to be honest. Don't think there is any length caveats but who would know, they seem to change the rules without telling anyone fairly regularly.
  4. Fair enough re the calling for PK's head types, although obviously like all of us the City feedback we get has been painted from a lot of different sources and there's been quite a few reactions from both sides of the fence from all my different conversations that I think are overreactions. For the record, I'm disappointed he's going too. I envy the connection that gets made to clubs like MV and Broxham for example. Now i dont rate him much, but how good would it be to have a player that is just with us for the journey and becomes a bit of a legend of the club on pure longevity. I prob see Stef in that not good enough to start at a decent team, but a good A League squaddie category and until i see enough evidence to the contrary he's going to struggle to shake that in my mind. Much like a Fitzy etc At a personal level more game time is definitely the answer, but not in a team environment where you are underperforming and there is red hot competition for spots. It's where the lack of a reserves league badly hurts our developing products in Australia imo.
  5. I thought he got the yips personally. Which tbf often comes from pressure to impact in a short period of time, but regardless, the answer to that in a team environment isnt more minutes to play yourself into form.
  6. Im not sure i agree with that re being good for 30 min, not based on what he was putting out there. Other than perhaps a couple games right at the start, where he might have been due a few more minutes, i thought he got given far more chances than his cameos warranted, as much as i wanted him to come on and come good. I dont disagree re the point with pk and his subs, but i dont really think it changes things much given Cola was 5th banana at best for the front three. If he wanted more consistent game time, he was unlikely to find it here.
  7. I think there's some huge overreactions in this thread. We all loved Stef from a purists point of view, and he obv was able to stand up in the finals last year when we needed him to. But lets be totally honest, he's nowhere near the level of the starting front three, and Tilio had gone well past him as well. Tbf i'd argue even Bos posed a bigger threat on the showings of the seasons past, where he regressed in all honesty. Don't get me wrong, i'd still have him on our books sub-100k in a heart beat cos a) there's def potential in him and he's young, and b) he's a fan's and marketers dream, but let's not kid ourselves that he's worth any more than that, esp when we have a cap to deal with. And you know what, i reckon we'd have had an offer on the table for around that amount. At his point in his career he has to decide whats best for him; is he content to be a bit part player in a championship contending side, trying to force his way in, or does he go elsewhere seeking more minutes to establish himself. I'm sure it was a hard decision for him and ultimately he's moving for more game time and to further his career, i don't think its a sleight on any of the parties tbh. Let's hope he smashes it and returns to us when he's established.

    NPL3 - 2022

They're flying on top atm. Looking a good prospect to get promoted. https://websites.mygameday.app/comp_info.cgi?c=0-10178-0-598158-0&pool=1&a=LADDER
  9. I think you'll probably find that its more of a case of the club having a bit of a policy of not publically throwing players under the bus when they cock up or do the wrong thing.
  10. You just missed listing the Fans Player of the Year award, which was also won by our resident frog. The other awards are decided internally.
  11. Not sure i can agree with that. The last 15 years has been chock full of the worst, most self interested politicians this country has ever seen.
  12. There's absolutely nothing wrong with our Plan A. It's generally good to watch and effective. But its maddening that when teams set up that low block against us we're too pig headed to change our point of attack. It's happened all season and IMO, PK has to cop most of the blame for what happened Saturday night. Plan B can't be do Plan A better. We're Melbourne City not Real Madrid. We don't have the out and out quality to repeatedly put the ball on a dime against a 10 man defence.
  13. That would include membership seats already sold for a normal home game so in theory, other than a smattering of freebies and promotional tickets, the finals number should be pretty close to what has actually been bought this week.
  14. For me Tilio is far more effective off the bench and for that reason I'm starting Flo. Flo will also be better for the run, and might be a better weapon against a low WU block, which i expect they'll do from the start. The main selection dilemma for me is Griff v Gomulka. On form its Griff, but imo the slower, older Adelaide midfield was more suited to Griff's game, whereas a zippier counter attacking WU will be more up Gomulka's alley, in which case i'm opting for him.
  15. Most of them were anti-mandate rather than anti-vaxx, fwiw.
  16. Tbf i generally agree with you with respect to attendances etc, although i do think its of a bit more interest being a grand final and getting the atmosphere that game deserves. All signs points to getting very close to 20k and i think that will be an amazing result for these two clubs, and hopefully give the league a bit of momentum into next season. And tbh, part of me is looking forward to the crowd being notably bigger than MV's 'semi' on Saturday just to rub the point in for their constant attendance bullshit. No one actually cares but if you're going to insist on it being so important fuck oath im going to give it to you when you're outdrawn comfortably by the two minnows in town haha
  17. IMO ticket sales point to it being pretty close to the 20k mark at the moment, and if theres a late run on l2 tickets who know where it ends up. FWIW the official capacity of level 2 is 9,983, so by inference a sold out level 1 should get you pretty close to 20k with all the corporates full; which they will be for a GF. For context, our best non-derby attendance to date is 18,751 for the 2016 FFA Cup Final, and WU's is 6,888 (being their first game)
  18. I think anything over 20k will be an outstanding result to be honest, in the context of the crowds this season and across the board.
  19. I think add Jenko and Leckie to that as well. Both have spent long periods of time in the wilderness and will be hungry for that success.
  20. Top deck has just opened up. Looks like theres not heaps available from the North cornerflags back now.
  21. Id say so, ultimately in active it doesnt matter, buy wherever and sit where you like. Esp if you're in one of the side bays, you'll always find somewhere as everyone crams into the main bay
  22. There's 4 bays reserved to their 3 so, no. But they only open them up one at a time, presumably so they can convert them to Cat C later in the week if sales arent as expected. We had a sold out 14k last year with the cloud of covid hanging over, i reckon we should be good for at least that again. WU should attract around 4k for a gf i reckon so i def think 20k is on the table. If i was a betting man i'd suggest 18-19k.
  23. Certainly felt like the best crowd and atmosphere we'd had in a long time, last years GF not withstanding.
  24. I'd keep him at the right price, say sub 300k. But i doubt we'll have the opportunity to keep him at those numbers and i definitely wouldn't pay overs. Hes solid and serviceable and has the flexibility to play CB, but hes hardly setting the house on fire either.
