  1. Wohoooo...now that was a proper 10th anniversary Melbourne Heart match. Thanks for the (repressed) memories!!!
  2. Credit to membership team - got a callback this morning honoring the offer
  3. Phoned up just after 7:30pm and on recycling hold music until 8:00pm ticked over and then announced the line was closed. Thanks City. Guess that means the drive has been working, but I missed out. Reckon I deserved a half price season after watching us since inception and surviving Aloisi and Joyce
  4. Don't get me wrong, first priority is young guys running at tired defenders. But there are always those games where it is windy or wet, or the big centrebacks are carving chunks out of calves while the ref left his cards in the changeroom and you're chasing a goal. That's when I want to turn to the bench to the tough old forward with less pace left in him but a tonne of guile.
  5. Wily aging forward happy to warm the pine and come on in the 82nd minute to provide another attacking option. Don't think we have ever had one
  6. I hope to treat this Joyce period like that time I woke up next to the extremely weight challenged Sandra Adamson after a few too many at a party: lets bury the memory as quickly as possible and pretend it never happened.
  7. At least they were our ice bins. We could sing about them, joke about them, revel in being the poor little downtrodden brother of Melbourne. In other words, we had a club.
  8. Foundation member here, even followed the club to away days in each place. Also attended matches in locations like Shep, Moe. CFG and Wozza finally lost me mid season and I cancelled auto renew membership. Too much over too many years and by the end I was only there for the mates and beers. Win or lose I had no emotion either way and that is a completely odd hollow feeling. That is not football. Will always keep an eye on results and might flick on the broadcast every now and again next season.
  9. Two goal giveaways now for Retre. His best match for Heart/City
  10. I don't get the whole zucchini flowers as dish idea. I mean, what the hell, it's a flower not a food. And the two Peruvian ladies give me the shits. Especially the one with the frozen botox duck's bum face.
  11. I hope Bruno is the one chosen to give his farewell speech
  12. I have also been told extremely reliably he was informed in the days prior to the derby that contract will not be renewed but announcement will be withheld. Until when is the question. Munn is also no longer just skating on thin ice. A loud cracking sound has reverberated around the parent club. And I have never made a claim to be in the know before if that helps!
  13. This City team reminds me a lot of my adventures at 3:00am at a nightclub as a young batchelor: A fair chunk of desire, lots of time spent fumbling and poking around at the edges, but very little real penetration.
  14. One day we are going to look back on this as the darkest of dark times for this club. Even worse than Aloisi days. Hated manager who cant get along with his players and has the absolute ugliest style of football I have ever seen. Support off a cliff. Lachie Wales hasn't played as a striker since junior football FFS. That tells you everything.
  15. You ever start a round of "You've lost that loving feeling" and I'll double the volume and nudge the lads around me in Still the best chant (and underexposed) I've ever heard at any football ground.
  16. Of course we have an identity, and it is a beautiful one. We are the club of farce. If Douglas Adams wrote a book about a football club, if the Office was set in Bundoora instead of Stanford. If Monty Python had of chosen a different cup as the Holy Grail - that is us. I for one now embrace the farce, and will continue to support, if only mainly now for the blokes at the pubs and in the stands who have shared so many lows and SFA highs.
  17. Dunno about the result, but this is my favourite match of the year. Adelaide away, beers at the Hindmarsh with a decent away crowd and then feral locals at Coopers Stadium.
  18. I'd like to point out that thus far Bruno has acted with nothing but complete dignity. He could have posted sly comments and hints on social media (Hi Timmy), but he hasn't. He could have given an interview to put forward his slant, but he hasn't. He could have slunk away and hidden from view until January, but he hasn't. Instead, he attended the game with his family to support the club. And thus far, we have Wazza Wanker sledging him in interviews, and City Group pulling out the eraser on Bruno, even to the extent of cutting him out of many telecast moments at the ground.
  19. City to put on the display of the season. Perfect football and a 4:1 win over Glory. Supporters to flood Adelaide away the following week in a fever of excitement and expectation, only to suffer the ignominy of a 2:0 loss where we don't even place a shot on goal. Thus it ever was and ever will be. The Book of City/Heart Verse 7, Chapter 11
  20. I reckon any protest - banners, chants, clothing - that targets CFG (and not just Joyce) would most definitely get their attention. Probably likely to be reported in Manchester too. I'm pretty sure that the Sheik and Co are used to being viewed by the club supporters as benevolent saviours rather than football parasites.
  21. In my opinion as many people as possible wearing red on Sunday and ditching the City Blue (registered colour trademark, all rights reserved) is the quickest and simplest way to get the word out around social media platforms be it for active area and everywhere else. The additional stuff about the 23m mark can follow on.
  22. Myself and a few others I go with will also be donning the Heart colors in the terrace
  23. Refusing to wear city blue would be a good start. As much as it won't happen, I'd love to see a pure red n white terrace on Sunday
  24. I honestly think that the only thing capable of decent sports media attention is targetting City Group ownership of our club as a focal point of protest.
  25. It's alcoholic enough to a drink like one to cause. I'd hate to have to shit with this deal day in day out sober.
