    Good to see Caputo scoring.

I really rate the kid, I hope he can become a consistent starter as the year goes on.

Yeah I think this solves a lot of our problems - if we can have Caputo have a bit of a 'Leckie-lite' type season it makes all the problems we're currently facing a lot more manageable, as it gives us another outlet that isn't Macca, and means that defences are pinned back on the right side for us, which opens up more space which is when we do best - so far Jakolis and  Lopane haven't forced a team to change their shape, but Caputo's size alone is going to annoy the fuck out of a lot of the leftbacks in the league.

  2. I will never understand why we see Curtis Edward Good get his full name on these things, but no other player.

Absolute fucking cow paddock of a pitch, too. Hopefully this is the game which allows Caputo to get more game time because we need another finisher up top and he's doing the business consistently now.

At the moment, it looks like a long season, we'll probably scrape into the 6. I'm not too concerned that we are out of the Cup, we don't have the size and depth of squad to be playing three competitions at once, but I'm unhappy with how we lost.

    Positives:

First half performance was passable, but with concerns at both ends.

    Negatives:

If we want to play a high line, we need to have fast defenders, and we need to be compact, we were neither

Our ball speed is slow, Man City are effective because they combine triangles and possession with vertical balls that penetrate the opposition defence, we don't do that

We threatened very little, the only ball that found JMac was a delightfully creative ball from a Sydney defender; has he been introduced to our new players?

    We lacked any urgency

Amazingly it wasn't from a Sydney defender, it was from Patrick Wood, a Striker. One of the more bizzare ones I've seen.
