  1. I'm from Belgium :-) (you know me, I'm the WASPA organizer)

By the way, I'm thinking of ordering a few iBASE Storm Bases & Disks. Can anyone tell me how good they are compared to Subbuteo and PTF Sureshots or professional bases such as RealSoccer, Astrobase, Tchaaa ?
    Thanks a lot!
  2. Would like to have belgium as well because they like a cool little country with high quality players, impressed with their current progress in the world cup qualifying and I like their colors

I thought it was because the WASPA organizer is from Belgium. Only joking...  :P

  3. The Belgian team is great but I remember in the 80's they made the Belgium 84 kits (a red kit and a white kit), which were much better than the 86 one.
The Subbuteo Legenda are good for collectors and I think they shouldn't be used to play because they are quite fragile.

If you want to invest money on teams to use in tournaments, either buy some professioal stuff or play with either ZEUGO teams (the onews with the flat bases) or the new Subbuteo made by Paul Lamond (those distributed in Australia by Crown & Andrews).

  4. I know a guy in Belgium who has a huge stock of Zeugo teams and they are for sale at the incredible price of 5 EUROS. It's worth a try to buy some but you need to buy more than one set otherwise the transport will cost much. Cheers from Belgium.

    link?

You can e-mail Frédéric Vanton at vantonfc@base.be

    Cheers!

That picture is history. That was the 1994 world cup held in Chicago and many of the top players of the time are on the picture: Darren Clark of England, Vasco Guimaraes of Portugal, Horst Deimel of Austria, Wayne Smith of the US, Christophe Fuseau of France (finalist of the tournament), Dominique DeMarco of belgium (winner). Just glory days!

Believe it or not but Carl Young (on this picture, the guy with the WALES jersey), one of the top players from the 80's and 90's in the world, now livs in MELBOURNE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't you believe me? Check this Facebook group: http://www.facebook....069377/?fref=ts

  7. the problem is not that there are so few players but that there are many new players or ones that do not feel confident enough to play in tournaments. I would love to play in one but have only been playing for a month and by standards am not very good. If we do start something it needs to be mainly so that we can play against other subbuteo players to get better.

Don't need to be confident. You will learn more by playing other players than just playing on your own. I'm sure it's also a good way to make new friends sharing the same hobby.
