  1. The cynic in me says that he is acutely aware that he may not be offered another contract extension at the end of the season and he is trying to ensure he does. Regardless, I am glad he has hit a patch if good form and I hope this is the new standard (much like when Scotty J turned it around).
  2. I wanted to go to this game as its an away trip I have never done. But on a Tuesday with late notice night just puts it in the too hard basket.
  3. Facts, definitions etc. are irrelevant. People form a view then build up what ever evidence they can to support their view (and ignore anything contradictory). As I was trying to allude to above, there are those who would view the naming of A-League and W-League as being sexist and further evidence of the patriarchy (also please note the use of "percieved" in my post above, the definition of sexism is irrelevent in that something does not need to be sexist, rather people just need to believe it is - even if that belief is ill-conceived). If you have one person with a bit of clout who forms the view that the former naming was sexist (could be as simple as an off the cuff comment by say a Sam Kerr or someone of her ilk), then the leagues are caught in a potentially shitty PR position, that could have been avoided, especially given how much people like to jump on the bandwagon. Edit: anyway my point being I believe part of the rebrand was to avoid such an issue, in which case the rebrand could have been done a bit simpler so we dont need to remember who sponsors who to work out which league they are talking about.
  4. Its not saying the word women. Its calling one league the "A-league" and the other the "W-League", somewhat implying that the W-league is below the A-league on the basis that the men's league was not required to identify it as being men's, but the women's league was. I am not suggesting the change makes it equal in anyway, but rather suggesting it was done to reduce the likelihood of a PR issue... all it takes is someone with a bit of clout to take issue with the sexism (perceived or real) of the former naming of the leagues.
  5. Its ok being under "one banner", but its ridiculous the way they have done it. Could easily have just called them all A-league [Mens/Womens/Youth], as we know the move was to try and have the mens n womens league on the same level instead of the mens being held up as being above the womens game (even though the two are worlds apart).
  6. I believe the wages didn't have to br paid by the loanee club, rather the entirety of the wages had to count towards the salary cap.
  7. So both Nuno and Jamo miss our next game....
  8. His work rate was 2x that of Frenchy, which results in a huge drop in intensity.
  9. My understanding was panel was setup by TA/Vic govt. Vic govt gave exemption on basis of panel. Initial approval does not seem to have anything to do with border force/feds.
  10. I reckon he came on as a late sub in one game. But you are right, he has had fuck all game time, which is even more perplexing given how lacklustre our attack has been at times.
  11. You have just jinxed us all!
  12. Belated Merry Christmas to you too JW!
  13. He is also a very passionate player with a bit of mongrel in him who gives his all. Sad to see him leave, but we all knew it was inevitable.
  14. Just wanted to clarify the bolded part as something like that could cost him his job. From all the videos I have seen, his only involvement was to merely rescue a female terrace member (who I believe may also be his partner) from the middle of the incident. No punches were thrown by him.
  15. We are coming out of lockdowns where numerous people are still working from home and plenty of people are attending christmas functions etc. Moving it out to Casey Fields will just exacerbate the problem. Honestly, the club can go fuck themselves over this.
  16. Oneill and Reis were solid too. That being said there was a fair bit of daylight between Good and anyone else.
  17. Although it is no excuse for our poor performance, the refereeing last night was attrocious. Worthy of noting are the two yellow cards from Diamanti dives, where there was zero contact.
  18. I reckon Glover has gone backwards since then. He used to be reasonably solid, but would have a bad fuck up every now and then. Now he seems to be somewhat shaky all the time and the bad fuck ups seem to be increasing in frequency.
  19. Dunno if lineups are out yet, but I would go with same lineup as last week with the exception of Atkinson in for Nabbout.
  20. They are just GA tickets aren't they? I believe there is an away allocation, which the club will provide details to members.
  21. @belaguttman and @jw1739, do either of you know when regional Victoria will open up to Metropolitan Victoria under the roadmap? I can not find anything that clearly states what the rule is/will be.
  22. When PK goes to NYC, DB will come back to us.
