While on the subject of innocence and guilt, I've always thought if you're found not guilty of a crime you've been charged with you should be paid compensation, whether it's for legal fees, reputation damage, time wasted going to court etc, or if you dont get bail compensation for being locked up until your trial, etc. Seems only fair plus it would increase accountability when it comes to charging people.
