  1. I wish we could give Galloway a more consistent go at the Rb role because I reckon he has a bit more to him then talbolt

  3. Do you want to know the other thing that's great and the should be a huge motivation? Victory supporters are reduced to thinking 'anyone but them', when they think about who they can stomach taking home the silverware this year. It'll be four straight years when we've been better than them and they've won squat over that period. The chef's kiss is that the one year that they've actually been decent over that time, we stole the plate back off them on the last game of thecseason by one point. If we can do the double this year, we'll be rapidly closing the gap on them in terms of the A-League honour boards. And with Victory claiming two plates and two toilet seats before we joined the league, we'll actually go past them in terms of league honours since both clubs have been in the league.

  4. My favourite bits of commentary last night - when they tried telling us the flight from Melbourne was 8.5 hours - Kenny Lowe drunkenly telling us that Perth were dominating the game with 10 men about 3 minutes after they had the red card - but my favourite for the night by far, when they said Leckie wasn't contributing much to the win. He had a goal, an assist and won the penalty

  5. Don't forget his silly foul that led to their goal.

  6. To be honest I don't see any teams winning 7 or more of their last 10 games. We won the last 2 seasons on 49 points so we only need 5 more wins from our next 11 games to likely wrap it up. As you said though it's looking like a double digit lead at the end of the season and probably 35+ goal difference...

  7. Yes you are right on that score. He is not a natural CB although he did save a goal from one of those scrambles. I certainly would have started Talbot, Lam, Reis and Jos at the back. Talbot and Jos would have provided run and forward drive whilst Reis and Lam would have been able to intercept and use their height to advantage. I am left wondering whether Rado was doing some experimentation for season's end planning...

  8. I think you should watch again with more focus on Jamo. On the ball fine, he’s too short that in combination with being slow and bad positioning caused a goal and several of the scrambles. He doesn’t intercept or read it as a CB. If you are looking for a obvious mistake than you are right but there is a bit more to it than that IMO. Very unlikely that that the 2-2 would have been headed in like that with a big CB.

  9. I think that anther criteria is that the destination club should have a football philosophy similar to what we have at City. I think that this is the major problem that Atkinson is having at Hearts and why Ange has been successful with Celtic.

  10. I reckon that the abandoned match vs. Victory will be the last match of the season, and so we ought to have wrapped up the Premiership by then.

  11. It's an interesting position, we've opened up a strong advantage, especially considering how strong our squad looks on paper to the rest of the league and that assuming we start the replacement Victory game 1-0 up and 20 minutes in, We'd be pretty long odds to fail to at least get a point from there. We've won the last two plates by a combined three points and we really should do it comprehensively this year.

  12. @NewConvert I completely agree with you on this. There is very little point in signing for an EPL club only to end up out on loan unless at worst it is to a Championship club (such as Mooy did with Manchester City /Huddersfield). Bos is 20 years of age (Mooy was 26 when he left Melbourne City, so he was a much more mature player and didn't have stars in his eyes). I would think Bos would have good prospects in the Championship, the Eredivisie or perhaps Ligue 1 in France (as per Denis Genreau) or the 2.Bundesliga (as per Connor Metcalfe).

  14. *Bump for season 22/23* We're currently 8 points clear of 2nd & 3rd with a game in hand(Victory replay) . If we win that game in hand we will be 11 points clear on the same games played. That would mean we would have to lose at least 4 or more games in the remaining 11 rounds with our closest rivals winning on those occasions. In a strong position at this stage in time...
