  1. Being a Heart fan and Carlton fan, I've grown to just be blindly optimistic despite repeated hurt

  3. Well I'm nervous about Adelaide away. Always a tough place to play! But we'll have to take confidence from the fact we've been in winning positions both times there and hope to improve on that

  5. Fellas, I hear you. But seriously, we have sold our soul to the small screen devil. Despite all the difficulties of COVID etc. etc., this remains the underlying factor in everything FFA and APL does. When was the fan who actually goes to the stadium last consulted about anything that really matters?

  6. You get a 2nd chance to turn it around in your home leg as previous format could have easily had 5th vs 6th in the final

  7. Obviously not working for everyone, but for what its worth 2pm on a Sunday is absolutely perfect for me and my kids. They nag me every week to go but are far too young to make the trek from Ballarat for a 7.45 kick off. Sunday league obviously the biggest issue at this time of year, but id hope that a lot of Juniors are finished by that stage in Melbourne.

  8. Couldn't agree more. 2pm on a Sunday, WTF. I get that fixturing always will be a lose lose scenario and generally speaking somebody will be unable to go/watch. But seriously 2pm on a Sunday.

  9. I believe Sail has an aussie passport so I dont think he would count as a visa + his contract isn't up till 2023, Piscopo is someone I would love city to sign as he is a free agent in a couple months but where would he fit in the side?

  10. When you look further there are just so many awards - e.g. the PFA's Player of the Year etc. etc. that it's all becoming a bit ho-hum.

  11. Yes I agree it’s not clear at the moment. Who won the Johnny Warren medal in the year Diamanti won the Alex Tobin? Perhaps it all got changed when FoxSports moved away from the football rights.

  14. I am totally confused over this. Certainly, at the time of Mark Viduka it was awarded by the PFA. I don't know how it's awarded this current season, but only two seasons ago it was awarded via FoxSports, at least according to this: https://www.foxsports.com.au/football/a-league/aleague-2020-alessandro-diamanti-wins-alex-tobin-award-news-western-united/news-story/7e9c0b3ee6a525d6b46017f483a0a173 So far I have failed to find any definitive statement anywhere. Dare I say it, but fairly typical of what I've come to expect from our football administrators...

  16. Shout out to the A Leagues, football Australia or whatever stupid name they call themselves nowadays. It's been a remarkably challenging season and everyone acknowledges how tough it has been to get good attendances to games. I was extremely critical earlier in the year about being forced to play games on Tuesday nights, when most kids/players have training. Especially when they are the future of our game - they schedule games when they can't go. So what better idea than to schedule a home semi final at 2pm on a Sunday, when so many kids are still playing their actual league games at that time. But hey, who cares, maybe channel 10 just found a sweet 2 hr gap between their rugby wankfest tv reporting to conveniently slot in an a league final. Who knows, but could you do anything more to disconnect our junior footballers from our 'premier' national competition. Sorry if this has been raised elsewhere, but fuk they're doing their best to ruin football here.
