My first match attendance for the season, possibly my last, not because I don't want to come, I just don't know if I'll be in melbourne on match days so a preety disappointing performance.to witness. Positives: We didn't fade in the second half We had many shots on target that on any other night would have resulted in goals. It's early in the season. Negatives: There were two things missing in our game: goals, and intensity. Maclaren was well marked by Lacroix who was my MOTM It infuriated me to see how many of our players in the front third received the ball with their back to the goal and then played a back pass or were dispossessed. Too many first passes in attacking transition were backward. Too few forward runs and movement off the ball was poor and we were static. Nobody attacking the far post Too many diagonal balls into the congested half of the field Glover looked tentative and caught off his line again, luckily we didn't pay with a second goal I know that we played WU twice in pre-season but we looked predicable and they were well set up by lucky John to break down our play. Our combination play was poor, or predictable. We won't win a seciond Premiership with tonight's level of desire That didn't feel at all like a derby, more like we were playing Mariners, but good on WU for marshalling every single one of their supporters to the game.

Out-coached? You're 1-0 down and you bring on just two substitutes, the second one at the 75-minute mark? And you don't replace either Leckie or Maclaren? That's more than being out-coached, that's plain dumb.

You know lads that there's nothing worse than having to go to a shopping centre with your wife. I thought I'd done well this week avoiding that dreaded outing, but today I actually found something that's even worse. A Christmas Decoration Shop. We'd hardly got in the door when her eyes lit up like, well, a Christmas Tree, and at the rate that the items were going into the trolley I though we'd be bankrupted before the afternoon was over. I didn't realise that she had intended to save the entire Chinese trinket manufacturing industry in one afternoon. Finally we inched closer to the checkout and my sense of impending doom reached fever pitch. Then fortune at last swung my way - she needed to go to the toilet and ran out the door leaving me alone to face the bill that was coming. I had time to return half the items to the shelves and pay before she returned...and she didn't even notice what I'd done. And still doesn't. A bloke has to have a lucky break sometimes.

Although it is no excuse for our poor performance, the refereeing last night was attrocious. Worthy of noting are the two yellow cards from Diamanti dives, where there was zero contact.

I don't think things are as bad as they seem. They literally had one chance for the night and they took it. The best 2 players on the pitch was their CB and GK. Things are a little disjointed but we're not miles off like some are saying. Like last season it will take one game of it clicking and we will be on our way.

I think we're really out of sync at the moment and I include our CB pairing in that as well. Usually so reliable but i reckon they're just not there at the moment and in each game so far, they've been caught due to some iffy positioning.

Couldn't find a way through but not from lack of trying, some of our forwards are out of form making a new approach absolutely necessary, oh well

On form neither Leckie nor Jmac should be starting. Should have Atkinson on the right, Tilio on the left and Nabbout in the middle.

When Nabbout gets the ball, we get into positions and look dangerous, when it goes out to Leckie it's like the game stops. I don't think we have any idea what he is going to do. Atkinson needs to come on, his last full aleague game he was the best player in a GF. Either hook Leckie and tell him he hasn't been good enough, or Galloway and get that Akka and Nabbout combo going again

How was that goal by Mcnamara! A much improved second half from the goals after an even first 45 - in the end, deserved winners!
