  1. In 2018/19 he played for the full 90 minutes just 5 times and those were in the first 6 league matches of the season. He was then out for 4 matches with a muscle injury, and then was omitted for the next two. He did not play 90 for the rest of the season, and on two further occasions he was omitted from the squad. In 2019/20 he missed 3 of the 5 FFA Cup matches we played. He was omitted from the squad for the first 6 league matches, didn't get off the bench in the next one and was omitted in the one after that. then managed 36 minutes and spent the two after that on the bench. In fact he didn't get going until 3rd January starting a run of 14 matches before missing the final league match of the season. He played in the two finals matches. When you look at it, it doesn't really make sense re-signing him.

  3. This is demonstrably false. Agree that his injury record is incredibly frustrating and he's approaching a point where if he can't run out a strong season then serious questions need to be asked as to his future with us, but to suggest its cos his lazy or faking and injury is horseshit.

  4. +1 on Griff as a better option at CB than Delbo. Far more composed and a good communicator who brings a level of calm to the defence. Unfortunately we don't have a midfielder like Brillante who can slot in at CB anymore if desperate. I think Delbridge may have listened to Andy Harper's hype a little too much and values himself more than he's worth. He's a slightly above average A-League level defender, nowhere near the Socceroo's squad and his performances last season hurt his bargaining ability. When he wasn't at CB we looked a much better outfit and his best games where when he played full back.

  5. Actually you do. You sound like you are suggesting he has intentionally chosen to fake injury to not play, which for a proffessional athlete of any level is just absurd. I 100% agree that his level of availability and matches completed is way below "normal" what is acceptable and I would seriously question the value of keeping him. For me he appears to be one of those players that unless he is 100% fit and 100% confident he plays like shit and he knows it. So the moment he has a niggle or knock that some players would more than likely hide he reveals and with his legitimate injury history the medical staff err on the side of caution. But to say he is soft or lazy or just generally couldn't be fucked is in my opinion completely wrong.

  6. If they can be delivered to Bundoora and taken to AAMI, or delivered to AAMI, then they can be delivered to members' home addresses. COVID-19 is irrelevant.

  7. Indeed, WTF is this shit? What has COVID-19 go to do with not sending out membership cards or packs? I buy CDs and vinyl from all over the world and prompt deliveries have continued right throughout the pandemic, including from the USA, from Germany and the UK - the US and UK being two of the worst-hit countries. COVID-19 seems to be being used as an excuse in this instance. Why does the club do this? First the reserved seat debacle, now this.

  8. He was out a lot in the first season too, I don’t have the stats but I think he’s only played 60-70% of the available games. I think we all agree that he is a big softy of the pitch and even when plays he pulls out of challenges more often than not. Just not a player we can build on.

  9. Agree. Bloody brilliant report. Very puzzled why attendance was limited when there were acres of space on the hills. Surely people know enough by now to "keep their distance?"

  13. Perhaps a little harsh, but ultimately the point stands ; the City Blue members got theoretical upgrades and their old seats were turned into GA. The fact is that those GA areas are still open to anyone that has a reserved seat to sit in so if they'd wanted to take advantage of the upgrade and still be pretty much able to sit in or around their old seats should they choose in any given week they'd be able to subject to capacity, which lets be honest, if you cant find a group of 2-10 seats in that Southern end to sit in then the club has more than doubled the atmosphere and end result they were hoping for. I technically have a reserved seat in active; fucked if i know what seat it actually is, and more to the point here i suppose, is that i'd only stand/sit in active half the time anyway. I don't think the mixed idea would be too bad, but you'd probably still have the same problems ie if you made straight behind active City Blue and the rest GA, all those in the other old Blue bays probably complain theyre getting moved anyway. That end going reserved definitely only happened a few seasons ago, perhaps in sync with the Joyce era (definitely wasn't the case when our little group ran the Melburnians), and whilst its not the sole cause, or maybe even the primary cause, its definitely had an impact on atmosphere as its now infinitely harder for Joe off the street to sample active or enjoy the atmosphere without fully committing to a membership. EDIT : i think the point im trying to make here is that by and large, the people that are complaining haven't really thought the new scenario through, they're just taking the move on face value and sooking about it without considering whats its being replaced with.

  14. Pandering to the idiots, alas im not sure the club actually had much choice in the end.

  15. Perhaps this is very short sighted and the decision is reversed under pressure of a small group of fans who didn’t like losing their seats. Good alternative seating was offered on the sidelines I believe. The haydays of a rowdy and active home end was when it was open to walk ins as general admission, the club is desperate to bring this back. Now you will have the active bay and a half filled home end with random reserved seating. People seem to have forgotten that the home end thrived when it was GA.
