  1. is "knock" pommy slang for "the team"

  2. The low-light was Melburnians chanting "we hate victory" when the players came over to celebrate long after the game. We don't have to define ourselves as not victory and we really shouldn't be doing that in that moment. That moment is about celebrating our own achievements, not about singing about the tards ffs. I know this has nothing to do with the terrace leadership and it's the derby specials who start those chants, but it's a shame.

  3. You don't really think that do you? Bouzanis is a grown man, not a 10 year old child. He understands his place in the team at the moment and will be fully expecting Sorenson to step back in. What he will most likely be thinking is that he's proved himself a point and proved a point to the coach, his team mates and the supporters. He will ride that confidence during training and when he's on the bench and be ready for his next call up when he's needed down the track.

  6. Tell you what. I've seen us play plenty of derbies, but last night was probably the most I've seen our team up for it. You could tell from the very first kickoff that there was a fire there. Every single player looked determined to win that game. You could see it with every goal celebration just how much it meant to them all. Every time we scored Cahill and Bruno looked just about ready to jump the fence and light a flare themselves. We wanted it more, in fact we wanted it desperately. And when we went 2-0 up we could have sat back and held on to our lead, but we came out and through pure determination and hard work scored a third. And then when they made it 3-1, we could have dropped our heads a bit, focussed on defending and not letting them start a comeback. But instead we went up the other end and scored a fourth just a minute later. This was certainly not an "if we win we win" performance. The culture in that dressing room looks sensational. This is going to be a big year

  8. It's always a good Monday when we get a Derby win! I've put together a video from Saturday nights Derby. I've been putting this together since 5PM Sunday, a few road blocks as my Computer decided to turn to shit on me a few times which delayed it, otherwise it'd be up four hours ago and not 2.30 in the morning. I'm actually not sure what else to write here, i haven't left my Computer since like i said 5PM Sunday so i'm feeling pretty flat (lul) Nevertheless, relive the moments from the huge Derby win through a montage, enjoy!

  10. The only thing I'll add is no one should underestimate the positive influence Cahill is bringing to the dressing room.

  13. This!!! Add Brattan getting into the scuffles with glee and Bruno with the arm-band niggling away and not taking a backward step (and Sorensen doesn't shy away either), this is the first time I've seen some real steel at our club. We all know it's a game of skill, but we've lost many a game over the years through physical intimidation alone - Mariners under Arnie and Perth repeatedly come to mind. These guys, with Cahill leading the charge, won't back down. I'll wear the occasional red card - but I hope we push on with this strength. I want us to be known as no pushover - it's been way too long!! A good test against the Lowe crew next Friday.

  19. Normally by now the forum would have focused on some negative aspect relating back to the win to bring things back to earth ... this round there is no negative so we turn on Yoshi ... Love it!

  23. Yeah but so were West Sydney before last week. Nothing will be done. Funnily enough I attended the game with a few mates, one of whom is gay and a Victory fan. After the match he said he was planning on going out to a gay bar after the game but his arse was already sore enough after the game

  25. Favourite moment: When Cahill scored, and then walked back into the circle next to Berisha upon re-kick off to say 'this is my turf'.

  28. Definitely one of my best nights as a supporter of this club, and probably my favourite derby so far due to the sheer dominance we displayed. 4-1 absolutely flattered them it could have been double that tbh. BOUZANIS: Distribution was quite good, especially his long passing. Was pressured into a couple of mistakes but nothing that cost us. Didn't look out of place at all tbh and I feel a lot more confident in his ability now. ROSE: Where are all of his haters now? Shut down the left side all game and created chances when he bombed forward. Looked confident and strong. JACOBSEN: Fuck me dead, what a player. Big, strong and solid as a rock. His leardership at the back in place of Sorensen was immense and probably went a long way towards the result tonight. MUSCAT: Never thought I'd be praising a bloke named Muscat after a derby, but here we are. Looked a little shaky early on but quickly found his feet and played fantastic. Might want to check his back pocket for Mitch Austin. KILKENNY: Defensively solid and created some great moves going forward. Played his role to perfection tonight and was part of an incredibly dominant midfield. BRATTAN: MOTM for me by far, and considering how well our whole team played that is saying a lot. Filling the Aaron Mooy role perfectly so far, his passing is just out of this world and grabbed himself a goal. Flawless performance. COLAZO: Very very impressive. Always dangerous when he had the ball at his feet. That assist to Bruno was sensational, this guy looks like the real deal. KAMAU: This kid is something else. Georgevski couldn't get near him all night. That run and assist for Brattan's goal was fantastic, enjoy this kid while you can lads because he's going to Europe. BRANDAN: Fuck this guy is rapid. Tore Jason Geria apart all night and just would not stop running. This is the kind of winger we've been crying out for. Reminds me of Novillo but with a bit more of a head on his shoulders. His goal was a top finish and a great way to round of an incredible night. CAHILL: What can you say? That goal was one of the best strikes I've ever witnessed live. Pretty good way to introduce yourself to the A-League! Even aside from the goal he was making a nuisance of himself, making tackles and running like mad. His tackle on Baro at the start was the kick we needed to fire up. His passion is so contagious. Top signing. FORNAROLI: Oh captain my captain. Was immense tonight as always. Scored a nice diving header and it was his determination to get back and tackle his opponent that lead to Brattan's goal. He was fired up tonight and he let the ref and everyone else know it. I love this guy so much. CACERES, FITZGERALD, MALIK: Hard to tell as they came on late when the game was done, but seemed to play well. Overall, one hell of a night. Can't wait to smash them again in the cup semi!

  31. Guy was so coked up that he needed to destroy the advertising after he scored. Looks like one of those guys who'd get into a fight over a cigarette outside Sunshine station. Love it, hopefully he can carry this form through the season. But he seems like a gun so far.

  42. Thought he was good at Brisbane, but would too often switch play into the stands. He's actually better now. he really good at evading tackles ans staying on his feet. Would not be surprised if pushes Mooy or Luongo for the Socceroos. His finish for the goal was quality.
