  1. TTIM: the big uproar over live baiting. Like I understand it's horrible, inhumane etc. but the dogs are the ones eating the live animals right?

  4. TTIM: I'm a bit late on this one, but in regards to the poor lady who got run over and died near Southern Cross earlier in the week. What really irks me is that fact the media published photos of the boyfriend moments after he had learned of the death of his girlfriend. Pictured sitting alone right near the body by himself and obviously devastated. Really made my blood boil that mainstream media caption photos with tag lines such as "the moment the boyfriend learns of the death". I can guarantee that he wouldn't have given permission for those photos to be taken. I know it's a public place or whatever but have some fucking respect.

  5. Sorry dont mean to be rude but the answer is pretty simple: That's Soccer (And AFL and NRL as well TBH) as there are thousands of more stories about players who have could have made it than there of those that did... I am sure you personally know some PPL with these stories. I think you will find the strike rate of young A-League's who actually go on from playing more than ten games is pretty low all over the entire league. No A-League club is ever going to become a title contender by focusing on #youth... the league is just not structured that way because of where we stand on the Global Soccer Feudal System. Every club knows this and therefore pretty much uses the same method to try achieving Ultimate Success which with some variation goes as follows: 1. Hoping their Marquee, International Roster Players/Returning Ex Pats stay as injury free as possible and fast enough for the league. (Think Duff, Koren, Kisnorbo, Germano) 2. Hoping that their Middle Tier Australian's can overcome their skill/creativity issues enough to be better than the other clubs Middle Tier players. (Think Williams, Duga, Hoffman) 3. Hoping that they do have some Young Players that can develop fast and well enough to stay around long enough for the club to succeed before heading overseas. (Think Meiling, Gooch, Chapman) Agree with all that. Just want us to be the club that bucks the trend. Little like Southampton sort off. Also that wasn't rude at all. Actually un Cadete like. We are bucking a trend. We have rich owners and a shit team.

  6. What do you think the approximate % is of racing dogs who don't get fed live bait at some point in their lives? Bearing in mind I know alot of people in the Greyhound industry, interested to see what others think. 20% Surely it's not every owner? I think it's pretty shocking. Between 1-10% would have never had live bait in their lives before. This - The Syndication Company I am involved with were unaware PPL were still doing this... dog racing has become a very different sport in the last 15 years. Obviously the shit that used to happen in the carpark in the 80's was fucked as was the footage. But the same PPL that get always get on TV to go mad about Dog Racing in general know so little about the sport they actually think Greyhounds are vicious dogs because their owners make them wear muzzles (They purely do this because the dog was trained to wear one when they raced so for many of them it makes them more relaxed). FFS your more likely to get bitten by basically any other breed of dog than a fucken Greyhound - Thats a simple fact. Also PPL think all slow Greyhounds get put to death - When there is actually a waiting list these days to adopt a Greyhound because what great pets that make because they are docile spend most their time sleeping and dont even need a lot of space so they make great apartment dogs. And whilst we are at it another stat whilst we are at... over 80% of retired racehorses in Australia are not killed eiher but rehoused that's an official stat. Also if the same PPL who always campaign against Jump Racing actually knew anything about nags (I doubt any have actually smelt a horse) then they should be complaining about horses being raced too young in this country as two year olds at Sunny Rosehill who break down because they are not fully mature yet to race not fucken ten year old plodders prolonging their careers in the Winter Mud at Sandown.

  7. It's more that these same people are saying that its not happening and then have been caught doing it. Yea everyone eats animals etc etc but we don't tie them up, chase them and eat them alive. I personally didn't watch the program they did on it. From what I heard it was pretty brutal and I agree that torturing the animals and treating them the way they did is fucked up. My issue is where does the line get drawn? I think it's so hard when you're dealing with an animal. I think from what I heard what was shown on TV is definitely over the line but I wouldn't be against live baiting if done in a more humane manner (If possible) I wouldn't be morally opposed to using dead animals killed humanely either, but I watched the episode and it was pretty horrific using live animals. So do you feel a pack of lions mauling a Zebra is just as horrific? Or is it only when a human gets involved that animals killing other animals is horrific?

  9. City won the FA Youth Cup in 2008, and there was 8 players in that side who where at the club since they were 8. That happens to be also the year the Sheik took us over. Three of those players went on to play first team football, Micah Richards, Michael Johnson and Danny Sturridge (I don't think anyone else did). All those players joined City around 14 years of age. They usually start to loan players out at 18. Sometimes players can stay until 21 or 22 before they are released. There is no definite age at when is the best time to get hold of a player, but I think around 14 to 18 has in the past been the prime time.

  10. In my view this has potential to be a Tadic signing. A fading player who resents the club for signing him because he thinks he should be in a bigger league. I would tread carefully

  11. Season Four wins just on Engelaar alone. Could you fit into the one side (assuming all fit and injury free, granted is a huge assumption about our club), Sibon, Tadic, Engelaar and Duff?

  13. 'Older' signings stopped being successful in the a league a few seasons ago, successful teams stopped signing players in there mid 30s years back, we've been doing it since season one, seriously how many of our visa players have performed to broich, berisha, fuck even finkler standards? Other teams have learned to target players closer to the age of 30 and not 35, we haven't. Enough of this he's been playing out of position crap, or the coaching is not good enough, too many excuses, the club haven't learned from mistakes on or off the field. It's the same shit every week.

  14. Purposely putting any living being in a position where it is stressed, scared and fearing for it's life, regardless of it's position in the food chain is fucking disgraceful, and illegal for a reason. The cunts who are caught doing this should be thrown in jail. Or better yet, be used for live baiting to see how they like it! And if you don't agree, maybe put yourself in the animals shoes and ask yourself how you'd feel in that situation.

  15. Seriously though, they've obviously done the wrong thing with the live bait, but the people that recorded them and put it all on TV also did the wrong thing by knowing it was going on and not reporting it. The whole thing is blow out of proportion though, it's really not that big a deal, give them a fine and move on.

  16. Yeah maybe your right: Jose Mourinho really should catch up with JVS so he learn how to be more of true Professional Footballer Manager. Never said that good coaches don't carry on like fuckwits. Why would it make a difference if JVS carried on on the sidelines or not? How do you not know that behind closed doors, he could be giving the biggest sprays in history to the players? He could also be working relentlessly everyday to try and fix whats going on atm but i guess because you don't see him smashing chairs on the sidelines in the 90 minutes a week you get to see him he must just be arrogant I'm not saying you have to stand their like a statue and do nothing, celebrate goals, give directions ext. but throwing chairs and beratng officials makes you look like a fuckwit. Watch how muscunt carries on (and all the scumbugs they attract to their supporter base because of it) and yes i know how well his team are doing but is that due to being an asshole or recruiting well? Just naive thinking that throwing around a couple of chairs is going to do anything

  19. When I saw it live I could tell it was a genuine fall, except I thought he had tripped over his own feet. It was the way that he put his hands out to exaggerate the fall which you could almost say was simulation, but that happens all the time so you cant ping him for that.

  20. ..well why else would they sign him as a short term replacement, to not play him? So we'd have cover if we get more injuries or suspensions. Why else would we want a washed up player who was the leading contender for the "Jardel Medal" this season?

  21. Reply: "What would it look like if our club decided on 35 y/o Jaliens to play CB, rather than our youth captain Archibald?" Very easy to answer. This is what it looks like: The club prefers to play a 36 year old, even though he is well past his best, as he has played 15 internationals for Holland, and was captain of another A League side earlier this season in preference to a younger player who was hopelessly out of his depth when played in the A League this season.

  26. I still think my North boys will finish 5th or 6th. I think last year we had a great run, we can beat anyone on our day but we are just too damn inconsistent. We lose to crap teams too much and then we go out and beat good teams. Then teams as shown last year are nervous to face us in finals for the reason we can beat good teams on our day. From pre season reports Higgin is tracking well in the midfield and has a spring in his step and Waite is training well up front with the forward group. Let's hope they stay injury free to see what they will offer.

  28. "Who is he" isn't really relevant. Most good international signings are relatively unknown when originally signed. What I mean is the instant reaction to the signing of PPL like Germano or Maycon... Even when we signed bigger names like Tadic or Gerhardt I am sure the first thing everyone on here did was look them up on Wikipedia.

  35. For me the problem with Jaliens (aside from some of his skills) is his attitude. After a loss early in the season immediately after the match live cross to him, he said 'don't look at me, I'm doing what I have been asked to do'. For a senior player and captain of his team to say things like that was a sackable offence (hey what a surprise). This club does not need any more shit attitudes within the playing squad.
