  1. Ok here is what I think. I've only been in Yarraside for the last 5-6 matches of 2011/12 after shifting there from GA. I think that as a terrace what we are doing is fantastic. We are doing extremely well. I have no clue about any of these KGB Rooster Kop etc. but as a whole we seem to do pretty well, and at times fantastically well (Eg: GCU game "We are Melbourne" was fucking awesome). But there are a few things that we do not to work on. The smaller groups inside the terrace seem to be causing a lot of angst, this needs to be sorted out. A few of my mates are North Terrace regulars and commented after the last derby that our clapping is really good and very loud, but at times our singing was far too quiet. Also in my opinion we tend to lose focus on the game a fair bit. Aside from a few issues we are really getting better and a lot stronger! Cannot Wait for 2012/13!

  2. Cant believe People are getting so upset about the sale of a good player, unless MH players agree to sign contracts to wrap themselves up and stunt their own career development we will need to sell them with 1 year left on their contracts if offers that a reasonable are made. It is good for MH and players, good youth players will realise they get an opportunity at Heart and when teams come looking "with reasonable offers" MH dont stand in your way. Without being rude, the A-league was/is close to losing its 3rd team since inception and MH lost what 2M last year, 500K will bring with it many benefits, paying wages of a replacement and being invested in our future. We could fund a whole youth program with this money ect Yeah having Eli will/would be nice next year and yes he could easily kick 15 goals but we may still get him on loan ect, but it would be rude to stand in his way and many supporters are looking at the now, not what could potentially happen or come from the money we earn. MH and the A-league is a developmental league in this code and we need to accept this, MH doesnt have pits of money like MV or Sydney, we need to be profitable, and part of this imo is churning out consistently players of international quality then selling them profits ect. Yeah it can suck but all it means is that another player gets an opportunity, he isnt the same but Goodwin was sitting in our youth for most of last year, along with Walker who people are creaming over, so who else is there? these guys were playing suburban leagues 18 months ago and now they may both be playing A-league as soon as next season (on a permanent basis). One door shuts, many more open imo What will everybody's opinion be on the situation if they found out we held onto an Eli type player, who then kicks 18 goals goes on a free and we get nothing, the bonus's ect we can pin, such as resale and international appearances may double the price we eventually receive for this type of player. just my now long winded opinion which nobody will read, *i hate people who post long responses haha*

  4. Lol, the best young goalkeeper in the country, (yes I rate Birra above Ryan), one of the best young strikers in the league, the emerging star that is Goodwin and the super consistent Neville? Newy are building a very strong team, and they are doing it the right way - stealing other teams young guns who are starved game time. We could have had all the aforementioned players, and they would all work for us - but we were too slow.

  9. Agree, he had Mike Mulvey coaching him for 3 years. I don't care so much if he can't score if he had 10 or 15 assists a year but he doesn't have that either. What does he offer that our existing list or NYL team don't offer?

  10. How was he not coached properly at GCU? GCU in there short existance had a fantastic NYL setup...

  15. There's your problem. AMDs are absolutely rubbish at the moment and far behind intel CPUs. Also strong lack of price. How can someone judge if its good if you dont say how much it is?

  16. This thread had potential and started off well but now it's completely farked. You guys are just bringing terrace politics into play when and where they aren't needed. It has gotten to the point where I can't tell if the last 10 posts have been taking the piss or being dead serious. RK was originally started as a funny name for the group of casuals and others at the back of Bay 17 which of course, includes KGB. Is this still not the case? When did this group have any power within the terrace? I'm calling for a end for this pointless argument between two non existant 'crews' Capoland and Rooster Kop. This is not a debate on pressing terrace matters nor is it people suggesting and discussing points of improvement within YS in Season 3. It's a few guys talking about 2 things that don't exist, throwing in swipes at other terrace members. It's not needed in this thread, no one gives a toss, shut up. As I stated earlier - if it's not broken, don't fix it. RK and Capoland have a good system in place, and it need not to be changed, which ultimately renders this argument 4 of the highest ranked members of the terrace are having amongst themselves pointless and stupid. You can't police this stuff, and if you try - it makes the terrace look forced, no fun and unorganic. On another note, well done Baz. Interesting developments, that's for sure. EDIT: Argie, if you want to be a permanant drummer, I believe it'll be your decision on whereabouts the drum is placed at games. I think we should give the drum in the middle a go when we get the new mega. I think the need to have to capo and drummer next to eachither has evaporated as the organisation and understanding within the terrace and it's members has improved. I don't really have a say in this though. It is YSB's decision.

  17. Now that I am home and not trying to type on an iPhone, here are my extended thoughts. Ethnicity should play no part in how we operate as a terrace. Full stop, who the fuck cares. I'm anglo, I love the 'continental' style, so I don't think we should try to categorise the terrace as 'western' or 'continental'. It's silly anyway, we have our own style. The Rooster Kop has an over inflated opinion of its function and influence. It's awesome to have the support of the back row lads, but when they try to start stuff over the top of chants from Capoland, it does the terrace no favours. We're trying to work together, for the team on the field, yeah? To be fair, our style is our own and it's going to evolve slowly over time. Simply trying to pigeon hole the terrace in to one particular style will piss a lot of people off no matter which way we take it, so lets chill out and look at the small things we can fix. Like not letting me near rum on game day.

  18. In bold are the obvious choices, but are they all that realistic? We're never going to have a terrace with the best flags in the world, We've test ran every possible location of drums/mega, Pyro's never going to be able to stop, whether we like it or not, All pubs are fucking shit thats why you should drink in Alleyways with Youth, If we could fill up the whole YS end in Red/White banners both Yarraside and MHFC related, it'd be awesome - won't happen though. I'd love to have a handpainted, high quality, expensive and well executed tifo every week - not going to happen. I'd love to see the terrace rock up in Adidas trainers and Burberry scarfs every week - not going to happen. I've seen the terrace from the beginning - 15 guys at the Everton game trying to do 3 chants for 90 mins. How it has grown. And continues to do so, I don't exactly think we need to instantaneously go out and try to change everything up, from our mentality to other things as quickly as we can before next season, because I still reckon the terrace continually progresses each week, gradually getting better and better. Let things go on as they are. Don't fix it if it isn't broken. That's not saying the terrace can't improve though. This has been highlighted earlier on in the thread.

  19. I feel that in regards to Away Day attendances and pub attendances, a lot of Yarraside's members are largely under age, but nearing 18, so they don't put in as much effort to get to these things. So over the time expect, both of these things to improve rapidly. Most of the lads I go with will be 18 by season start and are all keen in getting involved with the above, something we couldn't really do so before. Speed of chanting is just an Aussie culture thing really, with persistence and encouragement of the right culture, I believe we can get it right, which I noticed started to happen a bit more towards the end of the season.

  20. Dunno how much more of this you can do. It's already posted on FB everyday in the lead-up to games and events. People will only turn up when they feel like it. People should know when and where to meet by now, if they are willing to willing to get more involved they need to make more of an effort. As for gameday, people don't respond well to being yelled at, although by now they should know the expectations. We will hopefully see most of the stragglers that stand in the middle of the active area moving elsewhere next season. The Roster Kop works well, we just need more time to build some better communication between the front and back. I think I have a good idea for AS next season: We must get the Club to highlight in bold the expectations in the terrace. Now, most fans who are keen on active support obviously want to stand in 17 as you can usually see bays 16 and 18 quite empty as people cram into 17. I know for the Derby they games they gave us an extra 4 rows, I would like to push for an extra 8 rows for the whole of the season. This potentially allows for quality over quantity. Then we get the club to make bay 16 and 18 general, which will allow for more density on either side of the active bay. This will give the home end more of an edge at those critical moments in a match. They will be able to join in every now and then, and over the course of the season they will learn new chants, etc. Prospective active supporters will also be able to get a taste by sitting/standing in bay 16, 18... Over the next few season this will grow and maybe then we ken think of expanding across.
