heart_fan10
"There is also the option to stay at Melbourne Heart for another year and improve even more." think this would be the best option for both us and behich. It also gives the club another year to look for a replacement LB, or to get someone like Petreski ready to make the step up the season after
Murfy1
Beşiktaş reach agreement in principle with Melbourne Heart's Aziz Behich 2012-07-19 18:36:13 Beşiktaş are reported to have reached an agreement in principle with Melbourne Heart left-back Aziz Behich. Black Eagles chairman, Fikret Orman confirmed recent speculations, saying, "We are currently involved with Aziz Behic, he is a young player and one we have been scouting closely. "It's likely that Behich will join the team for pre-season training on trial." The Australian born fullback is of Turkish Cypriot origin, he would be the second Australian player of Turkish descent to join the Istanbul club. Behich played together with Beşiktaş defender Ersan Gülüm while at Hume City, The 21-year-old left back has played 54 matches for the A-League outfit and has five U-21 Australian international caps. Behich is also eligible to play for the Turkish national team. The Black Eagles are currently in the midst of a financial crisis and Orman made it his priority to create a more sustainable future when he was elected last month. Orman has also shifted the club towards focusing on developing their academy players as well as signing young players and free transfers. Beşiktaş recently signed 19-year-old Oğuzhan Özyakup from Arsenal and 21-year-old Berat Cetinkaya from Sakaryaspor, a clear indication of a change in transfer policy. Manager Samet Aybaba has also promoted a total of 13 academy players including Sezer Özmen, Hasan Türk, Atınç Nukan and Muhammed Demirci to the senior team. http://www.turkish-football.com/news_read.php?id=3221
marteaux
Well if he's going to go - its going to be on a free transfer. If this happens - I'll probably cannonball off the West Gate with a Heart scarf on and a note that reads 'this club dies with me'. Probably. markn
In Australia, Soccer is a sport like Baseball or Ice Hockey that in this country requires us to convert Supporters (In particular Families) to the actual Sport itself for them to become Members. This is made near impossible if we don’t provide them with a winning product straight away. The product must also be consistent and stable. It's difficult to attract interest if the 'goal posts' are ever changing. When quality players depart, the football community must be reassured replacement are of equal or better worth. It's also important to offer a constant stream of information to supporters. Supporters need to believe they are part of the club. But in the end I reiterate your last point. Winners are grinners. 11v11
Aziz is a quality player and a huge loss if he goes. But good luck to him for having the ability to progress to the next level. He will be badly missed but he is a Heart original. Just seems a shame that a heap of players are going prior to the season starting. Leaves little time for a full squad to gel. But the youth team, had a heap of players that probably deserve a chance to prove themselves. Just hope that JD and JA have options up their sleeves to replace the lost players. If we can knock off the tards round one, smiles will be all round.

Pandev
met his old fellow once in the stands. when Aziz kicked a goal. his dad was jumping with joy, running up and down the stand in excitement. as you'd expect. further, i recall his dad said that Aziz was to follow in his sisters footsteps (practicing lawyer i recall), but he deferred his uni studies...good on him. good kid, best of luck. Jimmy
Should play left wing this season. It works. Have Mate out on the right.
Tesla
Should play left wing this season. It works. Have Mate out on the right. No, he should play right wing and Mate should play left wing. He cant cross, but he can get past almost any defender in this league, makes sense to me that he should be cutting in from the right wing. Aziz playing on the right wing will be, at the very least, a top 10 player in this league. Dugandzic will be just as good on the left as he is on the right, might be even better on the left cutting in than he is playing on the right, if such a thing is even possible. Do it JA. mus-28
Alternate the two playing left/right during the game, will cause opposition defenders headaches galore and would probably allow Mate to get a few more goals cutting in on his shooting foot.

I heard a bit of discussion last night about they're hoping to use Williams on the left, cutting in. Not as good a dribbler as Behich or Dugandzic IMO, but definitely has a better shot on him than Behich.
heart_fan10
think it'll be either GolGol or Williams on the left wing depending who's in better form

cadete
behich will destroy the league this season. There's no stopping him Dont get me wrong I love the little guy... But his subpar defensive marking, inconsistent crossing and fairly poor shooting are just three limitations that may stop him.
HeartFc
His pace and dribbling skills suggests he could play more of an attacking role for the club. Just wish the boys upstairs saw it that way and we would've offered goodwin a larger carrot.
