jw1739
Interesting. We now seem to have 7 Scholarship Players - Delianov, Pieiras, Metcalfe, Genreau, Najjarine, Roberts and Crowley (to be added to the list above). ???

Would make sense again if we still have to plug a few holes to reach the minimum. EDIT : Just read he was a scholarship for one year deal. Might get promoted this year? Harrison
We are at 16 not including Brattan, Sorenson or the scholarship players (as they sit outside the senior roster). I think Crowley is eligible for another NYL season but upgrading him would make sense if we need to get to the minimum 20.

citymad
Arzani never plays in the midfield and neither does Najjarine. They are wingers. Metcalfe always plays in the midfield never as a defender. Dont know why they are listed in those positions. But at present we have 10 defenders. but we are an attacking side ...right..? Shahanga
@jw1739 Joyce says he currently has one spot left on the squad list. I guess it’s true but I thought we had more.
jw1739
@Shahanga Yes, I heard that too. (Incidentally, I thought he looked quite irritated by the question and during his answer.) I think he's quite wrong about that. By my count we have the bare minimum of 20 players. And that's counting Delbridge, who is not actually eligible to play for us until January. citymad
My tip is that Arzani will leave in the Transfer window. Why would he stay. Kid is a standout player and has had very little game time in the A league since he arrived 3 years ago. He would be better off at CCM WSW or BR. Any team with some space will pick up an excellent young attacking player with his signature. Maybe not quite ready to go OS, but with solid perfoamces in the next 12 games or so he would build up his profile. Seems to me City want to have their cake and eat it too. the Club cannot keep these type of talents on the pine during the 17 - 20 age. Wasted opportunity IMO.

citymad
 Ok sure but it seems strange to me. Christian Cavallo is also not listed in your squad. Isn't he there till 2019? Nope forget that 2018 contract expiry for Cavallo as per earlier posts. Well we certainly are in for some significant turnaround again.
Dylan
Seems like the players leaving will be as follows  Budzinski (thank god) Mauk Fitzy Kamau Tongyik Larocca Muscat Jackobsen  Edited April 30, 2018 by Dylan

I've seen suggestions of Fitzgerald, Kamau and Tongyik going to WSW, Muscat finishing up, Jakobsen to Adelaide and Mauk going back to Nijmegen (he's only on loan anyway), but nothing substantial on La Rocca or Budzinski. Deeming
Jakobsen departs Melbourne City  Quote Melbourne City FC can announce that Danish defender Michael Jakobsen will depart following two Hyundai A-League seasons with the Club. Jakobsen, 32, joined Melbourne City on a two-year deal in 2016, making 43 appearances and helped City lift its first-ever men’s trophy, the Westfield FFA Cup in November 2016. Jakobsen scored his first goal for Melbourne City FC on his debut; an acrobatic a bicycle kick in the second minute of the 2016 FFA Cup quarter final against Western Sydney Wanderers. We would like to thank Michael for his contribution to our Club and wish him and his family all the very best.
Harrison
It'll be interesting to see which of the OOC players we re-sign. Seems like the backline will be pretty similar, probably another CB, but which of the four CMs will we keep? My money is on Malik and Bozanic. Also, Atkinson is listed as a forward? Edited May 14, 2018 by Harrison
