All the usual faults from my perspective. Two home matches in six days and then none for a month. Likewise a month between home matches at the tail end of the season. FFS why can't we have Home-Away-Home-Away... throughout the season?

It's no wonder crowds keep dropping - it's hard to maintain interest with long gaps between home matches.

Wholeheartedly agree. Furthermore our biggest crowds typically fall on family friendly Sunday afternoons of which there are only two, both early in the season. The league needs 16 teams, to allow for a more consistent schedule.

True but would you prefer to call our home ground by its actual name?

Melbourne Rectangular Stadium doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue.

Neither does "GMHBA Stadium"... I had to look up where "Mars Stadium" actually is. And what's it named after - the chocolate/caramel bar?

IIRC the naming rights to the MRS are up for grabs later this year. I wonder what we'll get next?

I think they just missed a "1" in front of "International."

Second mistake with the fixture, so far, the other being the KO time in Ballarat.

Sloppy.

Probably the case, just lazy anyway you look at it.

Don't mind the 4 pm kick off if there is another a league scheduled after.

Edit: that said, scheduling a stand alone 4pm game on Good Friday baffles me

Presumably the 4.00 p.m. KO is determined by the TV broadcast schedule.  For me, the later it is scheduled the less incentive there is for me to make the journey there and back, but I guess it's a personal thing. I just hope that when the League is independent there will be be more consideration for what is more convenient for fans who actually want to attend games rather than the TV audience.

Just checked this seasons fixture,  CBF previously.

We are playing our first 5 games in Melbourne/Geelong.

If we can't build any momentum then it's our own fault.

Victory away =draw/win

Adelaide home=draw/win

W/U away=win

Wellington  home=win

Central Coast =win.

So realistically we should expect 11 plus points at completion of rd 5.

Now obviously we don't know were we are at, and probably won't until April, but if we have less then we should forget about doing anything this season.

If you can't speculate about complete unknown variables you shouldn't be on a soccer forum.

Brisbane away=draw

Wanderers away =loss

Perth home= win

Newcastle away =win

Victory home=draw

At completion of round 11 we should have 21 points and depending on Wanderers, Western United and Sydney we should be top 2 and hopefully top.

I'd argue that Brisbane would be a win, and WSW to be a win (even at their stadium). However I'd predict a loss to Perth, Fornaroli to bum us.

Too early to call the derby.

Last week's loss really was against what "should" have happened.

Really we should know in a few hours where we are at. We win we still have a sniff we lose pretty much looking as second as the best we could hope for.

After a few cool ones I'm pretty optimistic.

Still gets us into Asia. Not the worst thing.
