Barely played last season - and when he did it was in France League 2, not the Turkish Superleague.

Samuel Eto?

This would actually make perfect sense as he is looking for a new club and ive seen an article that he would be happy to play in the A League.

50 goals in 89 appearances in the Süper Lig isnt anything to sneeze at.

Is the the bloke def Senegalese @ABC123 or just from African region

Transfermarkt says he's under contract at his current club Konyaspor until 30 June 2019?

This bloke looks gettable:

LW and can play in the mid. Not a bad scoring record either with 29 in 63 appearances for Parma. A good age too at 26 and i'd say maybe where the marquee spot would go to if we did get him considering we'd have to lure him from Parma.

oh and he's Senegalese

Its fun mate.

Anything to get through the deafening silence coming from the CFG Mothership

You ought to know by now that nothing happens in a hurry in CFG.

I wonder whether we're being held up until this Arzani business gets sorted?

That was my assumption at the beginning, but if it is a done deal as reported, i don't see the hold up in signing anyone else tbh.

Its either that there is a slight chance he may still stick around on marquee wages for a season and they are holding off signing the last 2 visa spots because of that

or

He's gone and its just about going through the rigmarole of the transfer dance.

Personally I've been happy with the Aussies we have brought in (that's if you add McGowan which isn't official) so i'm happy to be patient with the Visas.

From what I've read I don't think it is quite a done deal yet. Apparently Manchester and Celtic held talks on Sunday night. This report also mentions the closure of the transfer window looming on 9th August. https://theworldgame.sbs.com.au/celtic-and-manchester-city-close-to-arzani-deal-after-holding-talks

The problem with signing an African player is that even if you negotiate past the stupidity of FFA’s seemingly endless salary cap restrictions and squad limitations, you still need to get past this bloke ...
