I wonder why all his moves seem to fall through at the last moment. So publicly as well.

Either A: asking for too much money or B: failed medicals .... I`m going with A.

Might make sense to have terminated Franjic contract to free up funds to bring in Troisi, Franjic was close to one of the best paid Aussies under the cap from what i was told.

3-4-3

     Malik/Tongyik        Jakobsen       La Rocca

      Jamison          Killa/Brattan                Fitzy

                            Novillo /Caceras

              Kamau/Troisi        Cahill/Brandan

                                  Bruno

Im definately no Manager but this looks ok to me.

Would choose:

-Brandan to start once fit

-Kamau to replace Troisi at the 80th minute for some last minute energy

-Killa gets first stint for me, showed more last season

-Coin toss between Malik and Tongyik

-Novillo to come back and be a world beater 😎

-----Muscat -----VISA CB--------Jakobsen-------Jamieson-----

------------------------Brattan-------------Killa---------------------------
----Fitzy-----------------------Troisi---------------------------Brandan---

----------------------------------Bruno-----------------------------------------

Could also shift Troisi out wide and move Cahill into the 10 role or play a 4-4-2

Showed this thread to some Victard supporters and they are not happy, at all.

They were pretty pissed with the Timmy announcement last season, but the hate is at another level with Troisi.

The rivalry has just stepped up a notch, fun times ahead.

That's what I thought first too. The Tards fan's heads are going to be exploding at the Derbies lol

James Troisi set to re-sign with Melbourne Victory after almost moving to arch-rivals

IN the most stunning about-face in A-League history, Socceroo James Troisi has re-signed with Melbourne Victory.

Troisi completed a medical with City on Monday and was set to sign a contract to become the club’s second marquee player on Tuesday morning, but never fronted at its Bundoora headquarters.

Instead he met with Victory officials, where a two-year contract was formalised, with the club’s interest heightened in the wake of losing Marco Rojas.

The deal could be announced as early as Wednesday.

Despite their interest in the attacking midfielder, and confidence they would attain his signature, City remained wary of Troisi given the saga around his search for a new club.

This off-season the 29-year-old had already knocked back marquee wages from Victory, attracted interest from English Premier League club Brighton and Hove Albion and completed a medical with Israeli club Maccabi Haifa.

But despite their trepidation, City is still said to be stunned by the backflip, with preliminary plans for his unveiling this week having been made.

The ordeal will fan the flames of the Victory-City rivalry ahead of October’s start to the A-League season.

But Troisi will also have some bridges to mend inside Victory headquarters, given he had previously declined a verbal offer to be the club’s marquee - a deal which would have netted him close to $1 million a season.

This contract - inside the salary cap, at least for the first season - is worth less than half of that.

Both clubs declined to comment.
