Can some one please explain in simple speech how the league works, there seems to be a winner when the league is completed. Then there is a competition between the top teams.

Who is the League winners?

Which title is the most prestigious?

Which teams qualify for the Asian cup?

Every team plays each other 3 times. After the 27 game regular season the top team wins the premiership. The top 2 teams from the regular season qualify for the asian champions league.

Then the top 6 from the regular season compete in a knockout competition (the finals) to determine who the champion is. This is more prestigious than winning the premiership. The champion receives the third asian champions league qualification. If the champion finished in the top 2, then the third placed team from the regular season gets it.

IMO the objective has to been to win every trophy on offer. Given that we finished third last season - a distant third - the passmark has to be a top two finish, which means that we would still go into the ACL as did Newcastle last season.

IMO this is very much a crossroads season for us. It's just not acceptable for us to continue to live in the shadow of Victory and be thought of as some sort of feeder club for the CFG heavyweights.

I think we need to have less player turnover to build a squad over two seasons. Too many times we have high hopes that are dashed when a player fails to live up to the hype. they get  moved on and we have a clan out and hope for a better year. maybe its the a league but it is IMO the way we build a winning team.

As long as everybody has a good time that's the important thing.

Yes it is important that everybody has a good time. In my opinion 2 things are important in football.

1. The fans pay hard earned money to watch their team. Therefore it is up to the team to entertain them.

2. The second, winning is important. My coach always used the phrase "Second is the first loser."

Most supporters want to be entertained and want to win. But some supporters prioritise winning at all costs and others are are content when the team draw or lose as long as they have been entertained and their team gave 100%

Me I am greedy, I want both :)

A winning team culture - E

We didn't even win half our games, we were more resilient and able to come from behind, but rarely able to go on with it. This is still a team with no determination to win

Entertaining football - F

Zzzzzzzzz....

Building for the future - E

Arzani - gone

Delbridge has flourished,

Atkinson has nailed a regular start without flourishing

McGree and Wales - treading water

Najjarine, Najjar, Pieris, Metcalfe have been used sparingly or not at all

Experienced players released, recruiting has been poor

Impact on women's team and youth teams - E

Montemurro gone

Palatsides gone

Trani gone
