Wishful thinking IMO. Someone would come and fill the power vacuum pretty quickly

Yes. Most likely cause IMO will be food shortage and food wars. Civilisation will be replaced by rule by whoever is the strongest. "Lord of the Flies" stuff. From what I read and hear, some countries are like that now, and many have been in the not-too-distant past.

Sounds like the Dark Ages where Warlords just fought constant wars against each other when the weather permitted, or the most dangerous parts of current of Africa but those blokes have Machine Guns and not spears.

I wonder why Victoria is the home of both the ALP left and the Liberal left?

Sydney is the old money and the rest of the country are red necks.

simples

Clearly it is really not relevant anymore but basically comes down to the original religious makeup of each state...

Sydney's original population consisted of a lot of released Convicts which in turn meant the City always had a much larger percentage of Irish Catholics, due to these numbers they were very quickly able to establish themselves as the ALP NSW Right.

Melbourne on the other hand early on created several large institutions for the Protestant Establishment like the Melbourne Club etc and the Masonic Movement was much larger here for those in the Middle Class. Therefore when the Socialism was at its height and impacting the ALP - In Melbourne the Catholics were asked to leave/felt that had to leave (It depends on who you speak too) due to how Socialism and Catholicism can not coexist.

This allowed for the ALP of Victoria to create a larger and more influential Left of the party in Melbourne, it also over time saw more Socially Minded Catholics (who once would have been ALP members) join the Liberal Party. Alongside this the Protestant Establishments in Melbourne lead Conservative Politics in Victoria to always have a more intellectual and thus slightly more progressive outlook than its Sydney counterparts.

I wonder how much better Sport would be if WA and SA actually went through with it and both succeeded from the commonwealth...

We would instantly have two new usually half decent Cricket Test Nations to play Australia and suddenly an International AFL Tri-Series that had national pride on the line between three countries all based on the same Island.

South Australia would be a third world nation, no time for sport.

So true, in all honestly the only good things I can ever think of coming out of South Australia are Coopers (lol) , Tony Modra, Clive Waterhouse and a couple of girls I meet from there once... whilst safely in Melbourne.

Would be?

No electricity, no jobs, one river, 90% desert, 47% of adults are borderline illiterate, economy based around agriculture and state sponsored manufacturing, nutcase politicians, etc.

I think they're already there tbh.

Don't even get me started on Tasmania. Happy to elect people like Bob Brown when they know the rest of the country will bail them out for their stupid choices.

Grant them their independence I say. See who they vote for then.

I get so irrationally angry that they get 12 senate seats. (Inb4 cadete lectures me on States rights at federation)

Don't forget they are guaranteed 5 seats in the house of reps, which is why they have the smallest numbers of any seat in the house. Back when I lived in the NT our 1 seat had almost twice the voters of everyone of their 5.

Lol.

But I actually agree with u after I did a Token Couple Tassie Road by coincidence ages ago  during the PUP election...

Anyway we ended up seeing an unknown bogan bird named Lambie lecturing us at the time every ad break for over a week. (It was literally every break as they cost nothing to run there).

So yeah, since then fuck Tassie having 12 Senators...

I wonder...whether anyone really understands these images etc. coming in from the Hubble telescope? Every time I try to even get the remotest understanding of how our universe can be expanding at the speed of light into something that wasn't there before, black holes that eat energy, dark matter, etc. etc....my mind just blows all its fuses and I cannot think straight.

You can study physics and astronomy for your entire life and you'll still never truly fathom it. The universe is too complex and massive for our minds to properly comprehend. If you haven't already, I highly recommend watching the TV series Cosmos, everything is simplified yet still crazy. Makes you really appreciate just how insignificant we actually are. Always makes me feel better about the problems in my life knowing that they don't matter at all in the grand scheme of things

lmao we've been lied to you plebs.

society is designed to keep you distracted from the fact that humanity is the purpose of this "universe". recent Wikileaks confirmed there is an enormous ice wall in Antarctica further proving the idea that we are NOT on a spinning ball travelling at astronomical rates through the universe. we are on a flat surface with Polaris remaining directly over the north pole, the center of the flat earth. Antarctica is the last un-owned land on earth, protected by all governments with military enforcement.

currency does not exist, it is all a distraction. work your entire life, thinking that you mean shit to the universe when in reality, we are the center of the universe and we don't even know where our planet starts and ends.

do not be fooled, look into it. society is designed to keep you droning on and on not question the real issues.

I think this whole flat earth theory stuff is a case of inception trolling. So many layers of trolling that even pretty well re-known scientists have got sucked in.  Personally I believe 9/11 was an inside hand job between a mixture of george bush, aliens, biggie smalls, elvis and KFC. It wasn't Islamics coz they're totally peaceful and it gave the yanks an excuse to invade Iraq and steal secret documents which Saddam had. Unfortunalty those documents when just links to youtube to clips of flat earth conspiracy theories. Assad has the real proof.

FYI I just got banned from a NASA live-stream of "Earth" because I asked "Why do you guys use a Fish-Eye lens?"

I wonder...whether there's a forum anywhere that Strider has not been banned from at some time or another.
