Huzie's point is that Wellington is a New Zealand club. NZ is in the Oceania Confederation, not the Asian Confederation. We need to check whether they have a special status on account of being in the A-League. Would seem reasonable if they did. Much to their frustration Wellington are not accepted into the ACF champions League because they are an NZ club. Even more frustrating (for them) is that Oceania won't accept them into their qualifications as they play in the A League. So it seems likely that if Nix finish 3rd, the 4th placed team will get an opportunity to qualify for the Asian Champions League. (Not exactly how it works, 1 place to the grand final winners, 1 place to the end of season winners, playoff place to the next highest end of season finisher?- and if that is right- which it might not be- what happens when 2 of those spots are taken by the same team? ie is being a losing grand finalist worth anything?)
