This guys undersized for Australias Physical League.
Not sure about him

Surely there are enough examples of someone saying "he's too small" that come back to bite them on the arse for people to stop doing it?

If he fails it will be because he's not good enough, not because he's too small. Having said that, he hasn't been too impressive thus far. Hoping he's just taking a bit of time to settle/get used to the  team and language etc

Look at Victory when they won the double...

Berisha
FBK
Kosta
Finkler
Delpierre

I hate talking about them but that was arguably 5 of their best 7-8 players...
We need to get our 5 Visa's right

True.

So far quality  Bruno Sorensen

Yet to be proven Brandan and Jakobson.

And if Colazo rumour eventuates we will 3 unknowns. But having said that pretty confident the scouts and analysis is improving every signing.

My only querie will be Jakobson adapting to the harder pitches coming from South America Brandan and Colazo * should be similar to Bruno who played nearly every minute.

Really impressed so far. But will wait till they've played a few games.

In reality to most Australian fans any particular overseas player is an "unknown", and for non-football people they've hardly heard of any football player except a handful of the really big world names. While we have the restrictions on the squad we have, "getting it right" is finding good players who for some reason are undervalued where they are - such as Bruno. I'm confident that with CFG we've got a better chance of doing that than the other clubs have. But the gap will keep narrowing as the league grows and the other clubs get more resources behind them.

I actually dont think our league is that physical, thats just an old fashioned stereotype

Guys like rojas and de silva thrived playing nice techincal football

De silva lol, achieved nothing in the a-league, was hardly a guaranteed starter for glory. Will be back in oz quick smart.

Rojas dominated the league and couldn't make an impression overseas and he's back already.

Umm signed for Roma, yeh he must be awful. Now a regular in the dutch league

The best player in the world lionel Messi, is 1.70m

Yeah De Silva didn't do anything here....
The only team that got success without such a physical presence in the last 2-3 years is Adelaide..
Pablo Sanchez comes to mind... even still he hardly set the league on fire

The best team in the leagues history, Anges Brisbane Roar were also a great passing team with guys like mcKay henrique etc.

who cares that roma signed him, will never get close to getting a competitive game for them
brillante's a dud and fiorentina signed him
de silva is even worse than amini

Playing regularly against grown men in a decent league like the A-League at the age of 18 is pretty much enough to get you signed by a top European team, because that's a lot more than even the majority of youth they have on their books are doing. Basically someone like De Silva was/is ahead of the pack, so it's worth taking a punt on him as he is more likely than a lot of other players to become a top player. Though being 'more likely' isn't saying much, it's hard to pick who actually will go on and continue developing at a rapid rate, hence why most players in the youth teams at big clubs or in u20 national teams etc dont end up going very far in their careers.

Point is that just playing regularly in the A-League at 18 is actually very good, it certainly says more about a player than playing even in an EPL youth team (hence why european countries that actually develop good youth have B teams rather than youth/reserves team, better to play against 3rd tier senior teams than top youth teams). Only downside is the season is too short.

Did he sign for Roma? I recall them pulling out of the transfer after they didn't pay Perth.

Please, he plays for one of the worst teams in a very very mediocre Dutch league. He will be back.
