Cheers for the clarification mate. I got that pic from someone's blog that said he was at brondby's stadium for a game against Copenhagen. When i googled brondby stadium i thought it looked pretty different from the outside. But perhaps against my better judgment i figured the blogger would know what stadium he visited. Obviously he didn't lol.

I shall fix up the post when i am at a computer next.

All good :)

It does look like an FC Copenhagen v Brondby game though (Brondby's colours are yellow and blue).

Not sure if this is exactly as stadium as such, but still pretty cool

Not much different to watching Morwell play at Falcons Park back in the NSL.

You will have to imagine cars lined up along the fence here (FWIW, I used to stand at the back of the terrace to the left) and at the other end around to the stand pictured below, and yes, the odd stray dog no doubt. Burrito's were great (haha) as well.

I have not been able to find the accompanied article to this pic I found. Obviously its not a real stadium but does anyone know what this is? Legit plans for a stadium, concept designs not used or just some crazy model someone dreamed up? Either way it looks awesome!

Japan is planning to build a new international stadium to seat between 80-100k in Tokyo scheduled to be completed by 2018. Part of the design brief was that "the stadium must change Japan"- thats a pretty tall order! But judging by some of these design concepts, the architects are well up for the challenge!

Aren't they knocking down the current national stadium?

Such an iconic and historical piece of architecture, but it's a horrendous venue to watch anything. Will be sad to see it go nonetheless.

Proposal No. 9 is my favourite, phwoar.

I believe they are, which as you say is sad to see but from what I have read really needs to happen.

Also I have noticed that none of the image links I posted are working, so here is a link to the 10 proposals

Have been meaning to post this for a while, a month or so ago I was reading an article on proposed new stadiums in Australia for the 2022 World Cup (say the bid was successful) when I saw in the related articles section "The world's strangest stadiums". Clicked on the link and this was the result:

Osaka Stadium in Japan. Former home of a Japanese baseball team, Nankai Hawks. The owning company of the Hawks sold the team and eventually Osaka Stadium was abandoned for baseball and turned into a sample housing showground.

Would have loved for them to have just built houses on the pitch and left the stands the same like that Japanese one though. Even better if they filled the stands with fake fans like they did when they were redeveloping the North Bank. Imagine waking up, putting the kettle on, opening your blinds to this!

*Inb4 this pic ends up on Melbourne Heart Memes saying we should do the same because we have no fans, etc

I was looking at the old Olympic Park site the other day when walking along the Yarra and was thinking back to when Aurelio Vidmar scored against NZ during the 1994 World Cup qualifier and the emotion on the terrace of the few hundred of us there (at the Yarra end funnily enough).

The Lang Park picture reminded me of the terraces.

I miss standing at games without being boxed in by seats.

Farum Park, Denmark. Home to FC Nordsjaelland (reigning Danish champions and subsequent debutant Champions League group stage qualifiers).

Not the most breathtaking stadium by any means, but the club was laughed at in the 90s for building this stadium People claimed it was too big for their fanbase (sounds a little familiar).

Now they've just played Chelsea Juve and Shaktar in the Champions League. All of a sudden this stadium became far too small and they had to borrow the national stadium in Copenhagen to host them.

Kind of inspirational... something to keep in the back of our minds, perhaps?

If you build it, they will come!

I am a dreamer, I think our own stadium, boutique or not, is something that the club needs to really look at.

own stadium is not going to happen so i don't think the club 'needs' to look at it.

i'm sure you have a good interpretation of what CJ is trying to say but the simple reality is that we're tenants at AAMI park for the foreseeable future, we might as well make the best of it in future.

As I said, I am a dreamer. I don't like thinking about the words, can't and never.
