drone shot of a pitch in Russia

Reminds me of a cricket ground I used to play at. Out in Toolangi it was basically a clearing in the middle of the state forest and the boundary was the treeline. It was completely surrounded by massive eucalyptus trees all around. If anyone managed to hit a boundary we'd need to get a new ball as the forest undergrowth was way too thick to even attempt to find it. Best ground ever though

If your ever down Gippsland way, Walhalla cricket ground is worth a look. 700 feet above the township, its a fair hike but not something you see everyday.

It's called the Sportcentrum Ixenheuvel and apparently this type of grandstand is called an "Elascon" - presumably that was the name of the company that made/built them - and there are other examples in Belgium and The Netherlands. I think it's an example of how a small club can have a decent but inexpensive stadium.

Out of likes but thanks for the info. Just shows that great architecture doesnt have to be grand or expensive.

Anyone into stadium porn should take a look at the group "Football Stadia & Grounds". Its like turning your Facebook feed into a constant stream of stadium porn. It has a great mixture of new and old stands

FOREST GREEN ROVERS have unveiled plans to build a revolutionary new stadium – built entirely from wood.

The company behind London’s Olympic Aquatic Centre, Zaha Hadid, have come out on top in their bid to build the National League side’s new 5,000-seater ground.

It would be the first of its kind in the world and will be part of the club’s £100million EcoPark development.

The safe standing section at Orlando City's new stadium. Complete with cup holders for your beer. This is the dream!

Those holders need to be spring loaded, so you can just pull them down and fire off some Brewskis when your team scores

So here's one for communist stadium architecture

10th-Anniversary Stadium, opened in 1955, was for decades the largest stadium in Warsaw, and one of the largest in Poland. In the 1980s the stadium became dilapidated, as no funds could be found to refurbish it and eventually turned into a a Bazaar/Market Place. Its demolition began in September 2008, and the new National Stadium is constructed in its place to serve as one of the venues for Euro 2012
