MrAiDaN66
i have a question for everyone since the design of the seats play a weird part in stadium porn. If you could design the AAMI Park seats, what would you do?

MrAiDaN66
What the other two said so replace them with concrete then remove them? or remove them and replace with concrete? nah in all seriousness i think the best thing to do is defs make a standing area with just something to lean on at the most
KSK_47
It would never happen but if it did, health and safety would def insist on barriers Edited March 14, 2013 by KSK_47
Peter
I like the concrete at "Lakeside" stadium. The two games which stand out for me were Aus V NZ and South Melb v Carlton. Great atmosphere with everyone pushed in close together, yet you were free to stand where you wanted.

Woody
No longer in use, but not much beat old CarisBOG/Tony Brown's. Similar to Glenferrie in that drivers would slow down to catch a glimpse of the Footy. Also the Uni terracing or Zoo as it is now is in full view. The old man burnt a few couches and assorted house hold items there in the 70's and was pretty cool to watch a few matches with him there later on. Below are the Uni gates, first part of the stadium built and meant to mirror those of Edinburgh's premier teams stadia. Legend has it Students would apply for these positions of ticktees and would let essentially everyone in for free and the only way the RFU would make any money was from Pubs in and around the ground which they intelligently had full ownership of. EDIT - Just realised how much of a Victoria Park feel the last snap has. Edited March 19, 2013 by Woody

Young Polak
Via Groundhopping in Belgium Reminds me a lot of that hockey field for the Footscray Hockey Club by the west gate bridge I played at, and I can see abandoned industrial buildings in the distance towards the western suburb direction. KSK_47
Recently built for the upcoming World Cup in Brazil, Arena Fonte Nova gives another example of why football supporters are starting to feel less like a valued part of the game and more like a customer to squeeze more money out of
Young Polak
"Scornicesti was the home town of communist dictator, Nicolae Ceausescu. He wanted to make a "model-town" out of Scornicesti, which was actually more like a village, with a population of aprox. 10.000. So he built new flats, tearing down the old houses along the main road, and he also built a large stadium(for a small town), with a seating capacity of 30.000. It was one of the most modern stadiums in the country, at that time. He also created a team, recruiting some of the best Romanian players of that moment, some of them having to play there, against their own will. Of course, after the fall of his regime, in '89, the team was dissolved, and the stadium abandoned. The main stand is home now for a few homeless people." Real Murcia allready played in La nueva/new Condomina by then. The owner of Ciudad Murcia (founded in 1999... and allready in segunda A) sold his license to Granada 74 and bought Cadiz back. Leaving this stadium with all of it´s history behind. Actualy it died allready when it´s real owner Real Murcia moved to there new stadium."

KSK_47
fuark, want some people to find more abandoned former communist stadiums. Fucking love them OK! Here's one for you! This is a soviet water stadium. When people were not using it a public swimming pool, they could catch some competitive wind surfing which was apparently pretty exotic at the time. I have not been able to find much info on it so I dont know what year it was built or abandoned, but pretty cool none the less! THEN NOW More here pics- http://englishrussia.com/2007/10/29/the-water-stadium/
