It really states where the socceroos are at unfortunately.

Not that people from Geelong are unworthy of Socceroos caps, more so who else do we have than Jedinak?

Well I think we all know Mooy is better than them both, but is also the shyest and quietest. Not sure what type of 'Leadership' skills Milligan has but with the 11 on field now I would chose Sainsbury or even Matty Ryan.

Don't disagree, more so think it's a dime a dozen.  We have so many out there under 40 caps that you seriously play a game of paper scissors rock to split the difference

Thought we were pretty decent for the first 50 odd minutes until Juric missed those two sitters. Fell apart a bit after that. Naturally with this team we should have been 2 or 3 to the good by that stage anyway, so frustrating to come away with a point after one of the more pathetic pens ive seen awarded. The ref and near side touch judge seemed to have the fairytale at the forefront of their minds all game.

Still 1-1 is a pretty decent result and Syria will have to come here and score twice to get past us, on a deck that isnt pub league standard.

I thought the defensive inclusions of Jurman, Risdon and Behich were all really good moves and it seemed to work until Ange subbed Risdon, requiring a formation change. Aaaaaand everything pretty much went to shit from there.

The penalty was obviously contentious but we shouldn't have been in that position anyway given the service Mooy was delivering first half, it's unfortunate Juric's finishing was abysmal and Kruse has the first touch of a rapist but what's new really.

Seppos have beaten rivals Panama 4-0 and now go 3rd, 2 points clear of them in 4th.

Now seppos have to play cellar dwellers Trinidad & Tobago and panama the 2nd placed Costa Rica.

Looks like if we do the business Tuesday night we'll play David Lee Roth's outfit.

Socceroos v Syria: Playmaker Aaron Mooy dropped to the bench for crucial World Cup playoff match
Tom Smithies, The Daily Telegraph

SOCCEROOS boss Ange Postecoglou has made a shock change for tonight’s World Cup play-off with Syria, dropping Huddersfield midfielder Aaron Mooy to the bench.

Though Mooy was one of Australia’s brightest performers in last week’s 1-1 draw in the first leg, The Daily Telegraph understands that he will play only a bit-part role tonight.

Tom Rogic comes into the side but not as a replacement for Mooy - instead Mathew Leckie will move from the central role where he was so effective in the first leg out to the right wing, replacing Josh Risdon.

The decision to drop Mooy is likely to be seen as a calculated gamble by Postecoglou, given the high stakes involved in tonight’s game.

Outstanding for Huddersfield since their promotion to the EPL, he has had to play a different, deeper role for his country.

If the Socceroos falter there will be huge questions asked over Mooy’s omission, though Postecoglou made clear he intended to shake-up his attacking stocks for the second leg.

Australia needs to win or achieve a goalless draw to go through to a final play-off against the fourth-placed side from the Central and North American region, with the winner of that qualifying for the World Cup.

Postecoglou has dropped substantial hints that Tim Cahill will lead the attack tonight.

Is Ange trying to tank qualification?
Another job lined up?

Kruse, Milligan and Troisi all rubbish.

Dumb!

Two choices

Choice 1.

You move the ball quickly and cross in Timmy = GOAL

Choice 2.

You fk around on the wing, back pass to defence instead of crossing into Timmy = NO GOAL

What choice do you make?
