TTIM : freezing windy Melbourne weather

TTDIM : less the a month till I'm posted on Lake Ohrid enjoying 30 degree weather, smoking the finest freshest $3 packs of darts that were still growing on a farm down the road a week ago, drinking the coldest $2 beers (bar/restaurant prices), eating the most BBQed porks, and watching the leftiest of socialists get beat up.

If that's not heaven then tell me what is.

EU, not Trump.

Don't really mind tbh, just another step in the EU's self destruction over the last decade.

TTIM: That we don't have a thread that we can post random thoughts in.

I was just thinking that acknowledging wait staff at restaurants is selfish, inefficient and borders on theft. The 10 seconds you spend on "please and thank you" type pleasantries really adds up. If you have a nice sized restaurant that's putting out 500 meals a night then that works out to be almost an hour and half of wasted time a night. That's over 500 hours a year. What business couldn't use 500 hours of productivity for no extra spend?

Stop being a cunt. Treat waiters like they don't exist.

Edit: Could have just been TTIM: People talking to waiters.

As somebody who has worked as a waiter in many different businesses, I can tell you that waiters want to talk to customers less than customers want to talk to waiters. TTIM: Societal norms that everyone hates but we feel obliged to do anyway. For example: stopping to have an awkward conversation with somebody that you sort of knew in high school when you run into them despite neither of you actually wanting to talk, just trying to avoid looking like a dick.

Yeah I dont do that. The way I see it is I'm paying so why do I need manners? It's not like I'm asking for something for free ffs.

Well said mate. These little things can cascade though a person's day and make what started out as something pretty mundane into something that is rewarding. There's a Japanese story - an allegory I think you'd call it - just along these lines. How a kind act by A to B is followed later by a kind act from B to C, and so on until eventually - perhaps years later and with no knowledge of what has passed before - someone returns a kind act to A.

It's actually a rather touching story.

And that from a cynical old buzzard such as me.

Pay it forward with Kevin Spacey.

TTIM: Watching ep 1 of Filthy Rich & Homeless.

So old mate isn't retarded and figures out that he can get some food and sleep in a homeless shelter, and it doesn't fit the show's narrative of how hard it is being homeless, they ban him from doing it.

Get fucked, shit fake documentary.

TTIM: That Vice with its very obvious narrative on all topics has been able to grow as large as it has as a "thing".

I mean FFS it's still going and growing despite the whole Hipster thing purely being the domain of nerds these days.

TTIM: Your local teams finishing getting worse not better as the season goes on. Costing us points heading into the business end.

Time to take off the gloves mate.

Few years back we had a gun keeper but was actually a better striker(imo). And in some games he would swap at half time.

Freak the opposition out especially when he'd score a second half hat trick.

TTIM: Gumtree Scum.

Went to go have a look at a ute on my lunch break today, just cheap runabout I can use for moving, odd jobs and travel/camping etc.  Looks ok but no 360 photos, "slight panel damage" listed which looked like fuck all in the photos and has a RWC provided in the ad. Cant be fucked finding the link I have browser history turned off, you get the picture.

Get there and turns out the damage I saw in the photos was not the "slight damage" I thought it was. Other side of the car got T-boned and it looked border line written off. I just stare at the bloke with a WTF face and he pretends to be on the phone. Immediately left.

Now I'm thinking ok he was a retard and all but wtf was his actual plan. Did he hope I wouldn't notice the fucking crunched door panel which clearly wouldn't even open or did he think he could convince me that "he knows a bloke" that could buff it out for a slab of Crownies. Honestly, I'm no bible basher but I'm starting to understand the New Testament and murderess teachings. #GreatFlood2017

I know that feeling

I go to check out a "name brand" guitar

takes me 1 second of looking at it to know that it is a fake that's worth $50

when I point it out there is this this blank look, either "fuck , I've been rumble " or "fuck I've been ripped off by the prick that sold it to me "

just wasted an hour and a half of my time

grumpy old man time ...........................

I catch the train to the Salt mines most days

I reckon that that 80% of the time when I'm trying to get off , some prick is pushing their way on.

I've taken it upon myself to purposefully bump into them as I get off, and apologise, "sorry i didn't see you as I was trying to get off"

Ye Facebook marketplace isn't bad. I've used it for furniture before and I like how you can suss people out eg. This bloke is wearing a "Tapout" t-shirt, he's from Ballarat and wall posts consist of pictures of his 14 year old girlfriend and calling his own mother is a "dog cunt". Conclusion, ice junkie.

I spun the resis coach out a couple weeks back after we played a game against them and I wanted a run on pitch. We had an easy game (7-0) on the weekend prior. Got 2 assists in a 5-2 win. No pace all strength @strider style hahaha
