CFG would know that if they took a straw pole among our supporters, it would not be a clear thing to move JVS on - lets face it, this forum and the world of social media would most probably be viewed as the (rabid) vocal minority. Pretty sure now that he will be here next season, and that one of the assistants will be the heir-apparent - no inside information, just my opinion based on logic. After the end of our season there was no point in keeping JvS on for a week or two if he was ultimately to be terminated, especially with the rebuilding that the squad is now going to go through. He just doesn't come across as a tactical coach, more a skills coach better suited to youth. If he stays, we better hope he get's some good assistants under him that understand that part of the game. His influence or lack of any constructive input will do nothing but dilute any positive work done by new assistant coach. They can get rid of the assistants though because their contracts are up. Now the irony of that is two fold. First they are saying "the buck stops with the assistants", which is a novel approach to say the least. Second both these guys came to City as highly rated assistants with very solid football reputations, yet now CFG punt them and keep the only bloke they haven't performed under.
