We build too slowly from the back, and we choose the back pass to the 'keeper more often than is needed. On the topic of the keeper, is the club any closer to replacing Bolton? I don't think my dad's heart could take another season with Bolton..

Welcome aboard mate. The club has picked up Andrew Redmayne from Brisbane for next season. Widely anticipated to fill the spot next season.

These criticisms of Eli are a bit over the top. He only tries to go himself two or three times a game, and considering our frequent lack of penetration he should be encouraged to do so. Against Victory he got past at least one player pretty much every time, and almost got into space for a shot or cutback. It's the same as Behich being criticised for trying to go past the fullback on the wing. The potential benefits are massive so it's worth the risk of losing the ball.

The criticisms and defences of Babalj are both right to an extent. He's is not far from being a star in this league, but he does need to work on a couple of things. And this game seemed to highlight some of the good and some of the bad. It's great to have someone with his size with great feet and control, and someone prepared to run at defenders. He's got some amazing assets. But when you can do that and attract three or four defenders, then he needs to look at taking advantage of the space that creates for others. He looked great at times, but I can't recall him actually getting a shot off at any stage, and didn't seem to look to lay it off. Just looks to do too much on his own sometimes.

To me he looks like he's come from playing against other kids where he can do it all himself and dribble past defenders at will. If he looks lazy or selfish at times, it might be a consequence of being a star at undreage level where could get away with it because he was so much better than his peers.

But he's playing against professionals now and he needs to work out when he should do the simple things and when he should try to score the goal of the year. It's probably just a case of improving his decision making at this level. He'll keep improving with experience, and good coaching and development will see him become an absolute gun. And he will score the goal of the year at some stage.

I read a great quote a while back about Sir Alex Ferguson's recruiting philosophy: (paraphrased) "We try and get the best, hard-working players."

At the top level, everyone has talent, but not everyone is prepared to outwork.

If Eli started to really work hard on the field, he would be devastating.

However, he is young, often it takes a bit of time and maturity to realise that it takes more than just natural talent.

Eli works well with Mate and has often passed the ball for Mate's tap-in goal however the team needs to look for other options as well as Mate, whether Mate is there or not. I think that overall the criticism of our team is that we build up too slowly and too predictably. This is one thing that changes for the better with Fred but we can see the dangers of relying on 1 player. One of the features of our winning streal was our pace, we moved the ball unusually quickly (for us).

Their tee-shirts had the 'AXF' logo on the back - AXF is one of Heart's 'partners' - see http://www.footballa...art/ourpartners and http://axfgroup.com.au/. The little triangular signs around the Heart's bench and technical area carry their logo.

Good to see these young people supporting the Heart. Melbourne is a very international city, and we come here from all over the world. Huge potential for both financial and grass-roots support, as well as players, for the Heart by forging links with our various communities.

Scotty Mun seemed to be entertaining a bunch of chinese businessmen so maybe pushing for bigger sponsorship next season. heard Westpac are jumping off.

I Noticed a megaphone amogst them didnt notice ando haha.

Game was average, we outplayed them once again 3 out of 3 derbies this season. Wish Goodwin's shot got passed Covic ... what a fairytale it would have been

Hasnt got a football brain. Far tooooooooooooooo slow.Shit who is he related to?????????????????

Find a new striker, someone who can finish.

Seriously Mario,

Did Eli bully you at school?

Steal your gf?

Ruin your chances of being a professional footballer?

As from one man with a bit of hate for different things to another who appears to be the same:

I find your hate for our CF very strong, is there any great back story behind its fiery strength???

Where you hear this? Obviously bigger sponsorship would be nice but Westpac partnership has been good. Community initiatives spot on.

He is just reading into the news last week of 560 jobs being cut from Wespac.

They have just recorded their biggest ever profits, so it's nothing financial to worry about. There is nothing in it.

Sidwell has a strong partnership with Wespac, as does the club, plenty lot of community investments, initiatives being run parallel by the groups.

Although I'm anti-commercialism, gotta say Wespac is definitely one of the more aesthetically pleasing kit sponsors going around.

Thought exactly this. Also worth noting Westpac's sponsorship is for 3 seasons, so nothing will be changing anytime soon.

Re: Eli. The guy needs to have the ball delivered quickly to feet. He was man-marked be Leijer and we kept pumping air balls that Leijer won everytime. Get it to feet where he is one-one with his marker and he will skin them every time.

But he's typically Balkan, I'm half and I've seen enough players from that region in my time, so I can say this. Great feet, great close ball control, but wants to do it all on his own. And his head drops when things don't go his way, chasing a ball is for someone else, and will be quick to point fingers. I read Eli models himself on Ibra: well Ibra is facing a suspension for slapping another player this week, when his club absolutely relies on him. Just typical. But on his day, he can end up the reason why people came to watch football.

Agree with last comment, dont mind the westpac, blends in nicely...

I dont often read the papers or watch news to much BS involved so had no idea about that... what i know is a mate has been attending all home games in a corporate box because his company (a different bank) is trying to be signed as a sponsor by the club.
