Jimmy
Welcome back to Melbourne Patty K. 10/10 signing from MHFC and I'm now a whole lot more excited about our defensive prospects. Wish he was signed a few weeks ago, would make a great captain. Edited September 4, 2020 by thisphantomfortress

heart_fan10
great signing. Should've been signed ages ago. Need to get rid of hoffman and sign McGrath tbh
Murfy1
Really solid defender. A good capture. A few A-League clubs contacted him earlier this year, so we beat them to sign him. We should have a pretty bulletproof defence with the likes of Gerhardt, Kisnorbo and Wielaert or Vrankovic. I think Kisnorbo could be another Madaschi. Another strong and dominating central defender, with great experience. Fitness is a small concern, but the A-League is much less demanding than Europe (where players can play twice as many games a season). I think he'll go very well at Heart. belaguttman
Good signing, IF.... he stays injury free and that is a big if. PK is a player who is a bit like Hayden Foxe, a potentially stellar career ruined by a steady stream of major injuries. It does give us some depth with Wielaert, Vrankovic and Kisnorbo as central defenders, at least we won't be seeing the Hoff playing there! It would also confirm Plan B, to move PG to midfield as a DM - a solid stopper but not as creative as Engelaar (if fit). Hopefully we'll sign Archibald and McGrath as well. DutchPride
good shit, now gerhardt can move to DM until orlando is fit again after doing week in week out narcotics while his leg heals
Jimmy
Extremely early but these are the sorts of signings that can win you titles, as opposed to ADP/Heskey/HK/Emerton signings which are great for exposure but don't win you much.

Was just thinking of the quote a champion team will always beat a team of champions. Just need to sign McGrath and we have a very good team on paper

Murfy1
Melbourne Heart Tipped to Unveil Patrick Kisnorbo By Goal Australia 09/09/2013 10:29:00 PM The Red and Whites appear likely to bring in the former National Soccer League defender as they seek to add bodies ahead of the new A-League campaign Melbourne Heart have reportedly signed former South Melbourne defender Patrick Kisnorbo as John Aloisi looks to reinforce his injury-hit squad ahead of the 2013-14 A-League season. Kisnorbo, 32, is a free agent having left Leeds United at the end of the last season following four seasons at Elland Road. The rugged centre-back previously made more than 120 league appearances for Leicester City, and also spent time north of the border with Scottish Premier League outfit Hearts, where he moved from South Melbourne in 2003. Also a full Australia international, the last of Kisnorbo's 18 appearances for the Socceroos came in 2009, with his career for club and country interrupted by a serious Achilles injury in March 2010. Heart have lost marquee signing Orlando Engelaar to a fractured leg for up to six months, prompting coach Aloisi to consider shifting Patrick Gerhardt from the centre of defence to a holding midfield role. Bringing in Kisnorbo would add cover and competition for places at the back alongside remaining central defenders Rob Wielaert and David Vrankovic. Unavailable for comment when reports of the transfer emerged, the club are set to make a formal player announcement on Tuesday morning. http://www.goal.com/en-au/news/4021/a-league/2013/09/09/4249116/melbourne-heart-tipped-to-unveil-patrick-kisnorbo Also, according to insidetheboxFC on Twitter, Kisnorbo has been keeping fit by training with Preston North End Goal.com Australia just tweeted that Heart have a "Club announcement due tomorrow at 9.45am"

morphine
Thinking long term, when Engelaar is fit, maybe we could play a back 3 of Gerhardt, Kisnorbo, Wielart? Who cares for now, ripper signing. The most exciting season we've had?
rizzo
This is seriously an epic signing. We now have a boss defensive end. Just need a good striker and we are set. If JA can't deliver with this squad something is seriously wrong

Who cares for now, ripper signing. The most exciting season we've had? That's what we say every year, and each have been as disappointing as the last. Kisnorbo, as with Murdocca, have massive families in Melbourne. Good signing, lets hope he stays fit and can recapture the dominant form of his late 20s. Parrot
Of concern is that League One Preston North End chose not to sign him after playing him in a number of games. If his body holds up then he should be a great signing and might even put himself into Socceroos contention. Certainly a vast improvement on Colosimo. Certainly a vast improvement on Colosimo. this stoked about Heart signing a quality player, just concerned that Kisnorbo has a history of injuries that don't sound freakish. could be a Garcia or be a Grella injury prone like player. fiz.heart
awesome signing welcome home Paddy!! we now have a great squad especially if we also sign McGrath.
