being barely able to speak English can't help

Paul Okon was Socceroo captain, the bloke can barely fumble his way through pronouncing his own name without saying 'ummmm' half a dozen times.

For the record it should be Melling, elbowing Broxham is a trait I like in leaders.

Bruno was captain but holy shit Kilkenny was barking orders when he came on.

Caught him telling Bruno exactly what to do in one instant and a couple seconds late it played out exactly how he said and ended up with a goal.

...because you give it to the player who is best equipped to do the job for the season coming up, not the next one. Probably why Kisnorbo remained captain last year even though we all knew it would be his last.

Sure it would be nice to groom captains for the future, but given the way this league is, I just don't know what sort of loyalty or long term commitment you can get from players here.

True. I'm sure more than a few expected Paartalu to be the long-term choice as captain at some stage, given his five year contract and all.
